mcmillan old technology??

This will probably become a chevy ford debate but ill ask anyway. Im trying to decide on a stock for a prone build. Are mcmillan stocks really better then similar stocks like manners and even bell n carlson. Comfort wise I like the bell n carlson but in the back of my mind I cant help but wonder if the McMillan would track and handle better. I should probably just go with a mcmillan just when the builds done I wont have the same feeling.

I don't think it's a Ford vs Chevy debate at all. The reason I favor the McMillan stock is that I can custom order the stock with the specific features I want. I don't have to limit my choices to one of many standard models produced by the manufacturer. I see nothing wrong with the Bell and Carlson stock designs, if you find one that meets your interests and needs.
Remember when we ordered a new car by choosing whether or not it had a heater, a radio, sun visors, arm rests, ash tray - and on pick up trucks a rear bumper? Today you take what's offered for a particular model or you don't buy a car. I miss the good old days. ;)

I prefer laminated wood. You can totally customize a wood stock to fit you exactly. Check out Master Class and Mr. Bernowski.

They make some mighty fine stocks. I would personally recommend McGee as well but I don't think they are producing stocks at this time. They are great folks to do business with and make an excellent product.

Just my .02.

I like most others can appreciate a fine crafted wood stock but im not careful enough to own one. I would scratch or mess up the finish and forever be upset with myself.
