Mauser 98?

Large rings measure 1.4" OD on the front ring, small rings measure 1.3" OD. Large rings threads are 1.1x12 TPI, small ring threads are .980x12 TPI. Small ring 98's are all WW1 vintage Kar 98's and that is not one. That is more than likely a WW2 vintage.
It pre WW1

For $100? :) I have to lean on Gary. We've been talking about my "Mauser build" for a while. I don't think this is it. But, at the right price, It could become something I'd consider. I'm looking at a custom stock and barrel for it. $1000 surrounding a pitted action isn't too attractive, unless it's cheap and could be "filled". Josh

It is obvious that the action is pitted. It is also obvious it has been polished/blasted/ground because of the condition of the lettering. Most Mausers, in good condition, have really defined lettering. When shopping, that was one of the things we used as a guide, the sharpness of the lettering. $100 is a good price, considering the trigger is installed correctly and works. I could not see the back of the bolt...front is changed, but nothing that cant be worked around. Well worth the $100....If you get no takers, I will take second chair in line.....
