Re: Marketing help/advice

Is it chemical, optics, trigger etc, without knowing a category it falls under it would be hard to help you.

Re: Marketing help/advice

I would try a lawyer first to get it patented if it something really unusual and then when it is pateted you can approach companys all over the USA and show them the product and take orders and you can advertise in magazines with certainty to selling this product.

Re: Marketing help/advice

I would not patent the idea if you do not have the money to protect the patent in a court of law.

IF there is huge potential outside of the firearms industry, QVC does product search shows and has a web page for budding entrepeneurs.

Not knowing what it is , but have you thought of contacting some of the manufacturers already in the business.

Been there/tried that - waste of time talking to them. Like you could have the greatest thing since sliced bread (or sex) and they'd say "sorry, not interested".

Re: Marketing help/advice

Sonof, Horns of a dilemma. If you talk it up, credibility goes down, and if you don't you become a non-entity. If you demo it, it can be copied. If it 'works', you drag out the wall street journal and pull in private equity/VC boys and they will take % of gross plus at least 40% ownership for the favor, or you attempt to sell the idea outright to a bigboy company and Hope they don't just flat steal it. Patent would be useful in that regard. Lots of us on here have invented things over the years, which we feel are demonstrably effective in some way. Acceptance of same often requires a paradigm shift, the initial stages of which consist of "you are a fraud, an ass, and this cant possibly work. "It will never fly", etc. Brilliance does not guarantee success. Seymour

"Brilliance does not guarantee success."

Maybe more perserverance - I been working on this thing on & off for over 15 years!

:banginghead:

Well in any case, stay tuned - eventually it will be available/on the market.

Re: Marketing help/advice

Sadly, your product would be copied and your market divvied up immediately.
Sadder still, people who buy firearms/reloading/shooting products today demonstrate zero loyalty to the original innovators.

So the really good innovations for us are no longer viable to bring to us, so they never see the light of day.

Re: Marketing help/advice

If you're looking for an investor, it would help to know just what kind of product you are offering.

Re: Marketing help/advice

Notice everyone how Lambert goes out of his way to ridicule me or my posts every chance he gets but won't say why.

I don't know why either - I do not recall EVER dissing him - some kind of childish game he likes to play. Good he does it publicly so everyone can see. Maybe needs some psychiatric help.

Someone ask him what his problem is and get back to me will you? Appreciate it.

Sadly Mike, you may be right :( - guess I'll find out.

Re: Marketing help/advice

Wow, Ive always needed a work bench for my reloading equipment. Does this differ from the rest because the holes are pre-drilled for the press or do you only need to assemble some of it?
