March vs NF

Texas Solo

B.S. High Master
10-60X56 HM March...Or....
15/50 x 52 Nightforce ?

There's an obvious cost difference of $1000, but I don't mind that if it's worth it.

The question is whether the March is THAT much better? I shoot F Class at 600 & 1000yds. Currently using a Vortex GE. It just won't focus sharp at 600 or beyond. I can't see the scoring rings at all, and since I prefer to hold off verses dial the fuzzy target is terrible.

My GE is not defective. I looked through others that look the same.
I've looked through the March and it was 100% sharp & clear.
I have not been able to look through a NF.

So
This probably needs to be moved out of the classifieds and into a different section.

But to the comment, everyone’s eyes are a little different so it’ll be hard to get a good consensus without seeing through them side by side. If it was me I’d get the NF as I don’t think the clarity is enough to choose one over the other. … but then again I shoot a Kahles (but that’s because I like the paralex and turrets better, not because of clarity which I found on par with my NF).

Spend time behind both. Your eyes will pick a winner. Some mirage won't even let these two scopes see "clear" lines.

For my eyes, the NF Comp is the best, but I still run Vortex GE because I prefer the ECR reticle and I got them when they were half the price of NF. If the FCR reticle had a dot, it would be a harder choice for me to make.

I have both.
First, this has been said over and over again.
YOU need to look yourself. Everyone see's things differently
through a scope.
We can give our own recommendation's but might not match what you see.
I like the NF comp. slightly better than the HM March.
Seems to me a little brighter under most conditions.
You don't gain $1000 worth for the March.
Have you noticed nobody complains about the NF comp.
You just compare your other scopes against it.

Absolutely......

When the mirage is bad it doesn't matter which scope you have you won't see the scoring rings clearly. Even with my March majesta at 1000 yards I can't see scoring rings. Turning the magnification down doesn't seem to help just makes the target smaller. When comparing scopes look through them both at the same time at the same target. You want to compare in the same condition.

Lots of people complained about NF Comps several years ago when many of them didn’t hold zero. Then, they chose to gaslight their customers. Not cool.

Go back a few years and you can find guys having problems with them. I have 3 and one went south on me in the middle of a 1K F match. I bough it new and it had never been abused. Took it to 100 yards and shot a box test and it shot parallelograms instead of a square box. I put my 12x42 NSX in the same rings and it shot a nice square box. I called NF and got the complete run around about how it was probably my fault somehow and my torque wrench was bad. The guy was total azzhat. So just to make sure I wasn't stupid and missed something I put it back in same rings, same torque wrench, same rifle and went back to range where it again shot parallelogram box tests. Put the NSX back on and again no problem. Called them back and thankfully got a different tech that wasn't a jerk and sent it in for repair. But of course I still got the SOP call that NF gives everyone "there was nothing wrong with it". For the money you can't buy nicer glass but for more money you might buy more reliability. Given they do fix them and the next price point up is at least 30% more and without a doubt the glass is spectacular I still consider them a decent value.
