March majesta scope

They collect a ton of light.

And what you don't want, when the sun is glaring at Orangeburg. Take any
camera lens and stop down the aperture when it gets too bright outside to take
a certain pic, your looking for. A rifle scope is no different. The problem with a
rifle scope is, you can't close down the aperture, because it's fixed. The one
piece of gear that is available is a modifier disc. In some cases, that's even too
big.......I've since accumulated a few discs for the High Master March to make a
series of varying sized inserts. Here is one I knocked down to 32mm and has
worked the best with extreme sunlight over our snow pack. I do plan on making
an even smaller one. Maybe a 20mm disc ??

I think Carl @glockaholic sells diaphragm-base modifier disks. These can be infinitely adjusted to the aperture size that you want. The method here for every 50% reduction in aperture size, you are doubling the F-number. Since there is a square in the calculation of the area of the aperture, you have to do this properly. For instance, for a 56mm lens, reducing the aperture by 50% means going down from 3.141592 X 28 squared or 2,463 mm2 to 1231mm2 or 3=19.8 mm radius or 39.6mm diameter, call it 40mm for half the light. The next step down would be 28mm for another 50% of light. And so on. Do check my math before you start drilling.

There is such a wide variety.
This scope is not going on my ELR build. It is going to be dedicated for one Match, The TackDriver.
So any top quality 34mm rings will work just fine, as the recoil on either a 6BRA or 6PPC is just about non existent in a 22 pound Rifle.

There is no MTR-5 reticle for the Majesta. Perhaps you have the earlier model 8-80X56.

The MTR-5 is a great reticle, especially for old geezers like me. My original March-X 5-50X56 came with the MTR-2. But years later as I passed 65, the reticle that had been perfect for my 50-ish eyes, was getting difficult and then impossible for me to discern. I send the 5-50X56 to Japan to get the reticle swapped and some weeks later it showed up on my doorstep sporting the MTR-5. At the next match, I was back in business. A couple years later, when I got my 10-60X56 HM, I made sure it had the MTR-5 reticle. When I designed the MTR-WFD reticle for the Majesta, I made sure that I could see it well.

I used the outer lines of the reticle to bracket the target in lieu of trying to stay in the center of the bull

I meant to answer this post earlier, but work and family (plus advancing age with attendant memory lapses), all conspired against me.
