Mans Best Friend

Well, we weren't looking to get another dog just yet. The sting of losing our last one is still fresh. But this special guy needed a new home. The previous owner took a new job and didn't have time or room for him to run. So...here's the new addition to our family. He's definitely smart and good natured. After a rough first couple of nights, he's settled in nicely. I think I can have him working tuners in a week! ;)bo.jpg

those eyes remind me of my border collie/aussie mix. One of the few breeds of dogs that will never lose a starring contest. She baby sat the grandsons by herding them, often into a corner. That was her job. Before we found a job for her she found her own - eating plastic yard furniture. Amazingly I sold countless 3-legged chairs at a yard sale! Now what did the buyer have in mind for a 3-legged chair? a fool and his money I suppose.

He's got a favorite toy but just a stick seems to be a good stand in, so far. He'll get a test this week, as he'll be left in the house for much of the day. Gotta take the wifey to an appointment in Nashville. The previous owner said he does fine and from what I can see so far, he does just that, but he hasn't been alone for any time either.

Pretty good with "kids" too. My #3 son sent this a week ago of his boy and dog.

I've had two just like that one, thought they were 10' tall and bullet proof!!! Each of them lived way past their time, they were like family , just haven't been able to bring myself to go through losing one again........however now at my age I've been thinking seriously about doing it again....John

Love rotts.best dogs ever
Definitely one of the smartest, loyal, easy to train breeds there are.even at older ages they can be taught anything.love the calm cool personality they have.very laid back but have working drive also.they just want to make you happy
I'm on my third one love em
Sally is #5 for me.
I agree with you 100% for me they are the best, except at bedtime trying to get a good night's sleep with 2 Rott's In bed with me and the missus usually means I'm sleeping on the couch. There is a pecking order and I'm low man on the totem pole.

Yes we tried sleeping on a queen size bed with two rotts and they won with sleeping where the wanted.our female would growl at you if you tried to move her and the boy would hug up tight to you.luckily the boys are easy to deal with.was tough in July though !lol gets hot
Gotta love em!
Down to one boy now and he's easy peasy
We are going to breed rotts in the next few years for extra income and hobby for the wife.
