A young man and his 11 year old son came over Sunday p.m.
to try out long range benchrest. My wife Martha pleaded
with Jack to not go to the range because it would cost him
a lot of money. She tried.
We started in the basement with a trigger pull lesson.
I told Andrew that I would give him a $20 dollar
bill if he could catch the empty shell when it ejected. He got his
hands up by the port and I pulled the bolt back and he missed it.
The shell fell out the bottom of the drop port.
We got to the range and I zeroed the Diamondback Dasher at
700 yds on the big plate. I then dialed up 3 MOA and hit the
Colorado prarie dog 'Chico'.
Then Jack shot a nice group on the plate and hit Chico a couple
of times. Next Andrew took over and shot two really close shots
on the 700 yd plate.

Chico thought 800 yds was safe from the two Rookies.
'WRONG'

Your the man Birdog, it really is neat that you have taken younger people under your wing and introduced them to a great sport, I know this young man wasn't the first you have let shoot your setup, I do the same thing when the opportunity is there. Great thread, thanks for sharing.
