Man cave inside of shed...

My man cave/shop is attached to the house. There is a 4.5 ft. hallway attached to what used to be the back wall of house. So I can walk through mudroom of the house, down 3 steps into garage to attached hallway. There is a 36" steel door in the hallway leading into shop. I also have 48" steel door leading to outside. There is a 32" steel door to go in mancave. The hallway has 2 ducts from house ac unit so it's heated and cooled.

The rest of the addition is 1 room that's 14x24 where my lathes, drill press, tools (and some time this year milling machine) are. Room #2 is my man cave/ reloading room. It measures 12x24. The addition is all cinderblock with concrete and rebar in all of the holes. There is a 6 in cinderblock wall that separates the 2 rooms. Each room has a mini-split cassette unit hanging from the rafters. The mini splits also have ducts to upstairs attic space so it's all climate controlled.

There is a refrigerator, and bathroom in the garage. All of my mounted deer are in the mancave also. I've got a great wife, and she's happy all of it's not in the house. Ain't love grand.

Mine is off of my garage. Lots of electrical outlets have been very nice. It’s also heated and cooled in a way that doesn’t disrupt my electronic scales which has been nice. I can shut the air flow completely off making it a dead air space. I put a bunch of cabinets in there and have used every bit of it, lots of shelves too. My Dad lives with me so I had the cabinet maker install electric locks on some of the cabinets I don’t want people messing with, it also keeps the grandkids safe. A big work table in the middle gets used a lot too. One thing I’ve used a lot is the inline fabrication quick change mount. You can switch out a press for another press in about 2 minutes, I fabricated a shelf to set the ones not in use on. I take some pics when I get home, shows it better than I’m describing it.

My house is actually a three bedroom two bath but I consider it a two bedroom two bath because one room is for my reloading bench gun safe etc. no need taking pictures until it is finished I’m getting closer every day I will have plenty of picks up when it is completed. Today I completed the drywall finishing in the living room kitchen area that is the last room tomorrow I will texture the ceilings and start sanding the drywall in that area, then on to paint flooring cabinets trim etc. I see light at the end of the tunnel!

Basically what I did, changed the smallest bedroom into my gun/reloading room, well there are 2 cages with a Bearded dragon and a Leopard Gecko in there 2 now but they annoy me allot less then my x wife. If they want something when im busy in there I can just switch their lights of

My neighbors shop is small but one feature he has that I really like is that he has retractable extension cords mounted around the perimeter where when he needs juice he just pulls out a cord, very handy. A friend with a big machine shop has a few big vises that are out in the middle of the floor mounted on posts made out of large pipe so they are about 4-1/2 to 5 ft off the floor with nothing in the way in any direction.

Watching an outdoor show on the tube and they had an ad for something that looked good to me so I bought one, it’s a super quick setup base for a workbench. It also reminded me of this thread.
The one I bought is 4’ x 4’ and all you add is a half sheet top of your choice. I’m probably gonna use 1/2” plywood but could be 3/4”. I end up doing way too many projects in the floor due to not enough workbench space - not any more. Plus I can quickly take it down to get it out of the way or take it with me for a table at the range, etc.

I found this out personally when I started to build my home my lumber package doubled it literally doubled from what I can see for no reason other than greed
Absolutely true but it is what it is. Remember this, your not taking anything with you when you breathe your last breath. On the other hand had we built pre covid we would have kept at least half or better in our pockets when it comes to cost. Coulda woulda if, I've lived these days a time or two.

Don't forget a heavy duty air compressor. Run a line completely along one wall with outlets every 6 to 10 feet.
And on the air note:
If you decide to plumb air through the shop build a compressor room to deaden noise, install a shutoff right at the compressor and water drains at each coupler
For plumbed air, do not use PVC. I've seen the end result of it exploding two times, and it sends shrapnel.

Mine is the whole basement. (washer & dryer take up some space) but the basement is 30x50.
Built my 5th reloading bench so by now at #5 I pretty much know what should go where. Another bench I use just for cleaning and jobs like scope mounting etc. And I went crazy with electrical outlets. Tried to correct every mistake I've made in the past. Lots of room and I have four presses permanently mounted.

YES, indeed metal or rubber hose but definitely not PVC.
On a show I watch called power nation they build engines etc. their air lines are some sort of blue vinyl plastic pipe with brass fittings I wonder is this specifically made for airlines and what it actually is
