Man cave inside of shed...

On a show I watch called power nation they build engines etc. their airlines or some sort of blue vinyl plastic pipe with brass fittings I wonder is this specifically made for airlines and what it actually is
I don't know. I haven't seen it. It may be something that would hold up under pressure since it is approved for installation on planes.

Lumber prices high. How about the derachio that devastated Iowa, Nebraska, and Illinois. Wiped out 1/3 of iowa's corn crop. Not much about it on mainstream news, due to flyover country. We take care of ourselves.

As far as insulation it makes no difference if you're in Minnesota or Texas, do it right....the gift that keeps on giving.

I meant compressor air lines I’m sorry my phone did not separate the words air and lines
LOL No worries Bro. Still would have to be something tougher than PVC. I've seen the glue joints give way with it and actually the pipe blow out as well. I believe the line that I saw burst was @ schedule 20 which is thin walled and considered a drain pipe rather than schedule 40 heavy wall which is what supposed to be used for water pressure.

A little over $9000 and then 30 days later when I actually went to buy the lumber it was a little over $18,000,And we are just talking walls and sheathing the trusses were not part of this quote
That’s still a decent price for a 3 bed/2 bath house. What was the truss package, about $10,000??? The osb bill alone on the house I’m hoping to build this year is going to be about $15K

That is PEX tubing. It is pretty much all that is being used for water in houses now. There is red and blue for hot and cold. May be other colors as well. It will work well for air.

I live in a small town where things are relatively inexpensive my first truss layout was 2 feet on center and the price was slightly over $7000 but with the cost of the 5/8 sheeting alone being over $4000 I went with 16 inch on center trusses for $1100 more and used 1/2 sheeting. And this is only the OSB for the roof!

That is the MaxLine Air System, very cool, comes in a kit. I will be installing this in my shop when I retire. It is a lot cheaper than galvanized pipe and fittings, easier to expand and much safer and stronger than PVC (which I don't like).

Here is the sellers description:

"MaxLine is an industrial compressed air piping system that installs in half the time of traditional methods. It is a semi flexible tubing that comes in a 100 ft or 300 ft coil and uses compression fittings for leak proof performance. It delivers clean compressed air, inert gas and vacuum. MaxLine flexible tubing is made of several layers: the inner and outer layer are HDPE and the center layer is aluminum. Its smooth inner surface delivers air efficiently and remains corrosion free for decades. It will maintain its shape after bending, which makes it ideal for layouts with many obstructions and corners. Maxline piping is designed for efficient installation in diverse settings, from small shops and farms to large manufacturing facilities"

Before all this nonsense started half-inch OSB was in the 8 to $10 range I believe I had to pay $23 and change per sheet, it is much higher now!
I paid $8 a little over a year ago, now it’s $38.

I need to send my plans out for a quote but I’m expecting lumber to come in around $60,000. A year or so ago it was $28,000.

Garage doors were $2,700 last summer, same doors are now up to $3200.

I don’t believe it’s actual supply and demand, I think it’s mostly speculators driving up the prices.

Trump's tariffs on Canadian lumber and increased demand are the driving factors.

I got my two garage doors installed they are insulated with windows they also come with 1/2hp openers that use a belt and are very quiet and can be controlled remotely with an app. I have two remotes a controller for each in the garage and I also have a keypad outside all installed for $21509149E6E1-356C-4128-BE70-6EF700A33DD2.jpeg

Mine are black so there’s an up charge on those. 18’x8’ and 9’x8’. No openers and uninsulated.

FB_IMG_1552570703878.jpgIMG_20201212_115230128.jpgThis is my old cave , It was constructed thinking it would serve as our residence while building and later turn into a small garage . We lived in this for 2-3 years while construction was underway of our house . This consisted of 1 bedroom , kitchenette full bath and shower plus living area . As it was time to convert into a garage I decided it was way to nice and not practical to convert . I decided to make this my reloading shed only . I had Central Air and heat but had to cut both off while weighing charges with the GD503 it was to sensitive . I have moved now and I have build a new shed for reloading only without the features I've had in the past I do most of reloading at night so it's pleasant temperature and quiet. I do have some nice views while reloading IMG_20200714_162840815.jpg

Plenty of outlets as mentioned. All to be installed above counter top level. I bought that lesson, mine are all at knee high level, and behind cabinets. By this time tomorrow, I wont know anything. LDS
