M16 vs Mini M16 Extractor Dimensions

Happy Easter everyone!

Would any of you have the dimensions of an M16 extractor, and a Mini M16 extractor? I can find many schematics for the cutouts, but not for the extractor part itself. I’ll cut to the chase for my purpose. What is the difference between the two? What makes the “mini” mini? I have a PT&G Rem 700 bolt cut for one of them. I purchased the Mini M16 extractor and attempted to install it. Seems to sit way too deep to function. I used a pin punch in the pin hole to mock up and test it, and I can’t see how it could work. There is no travel available, and it sits deep relative to the bolt body. There is virtually no hinging or action from the spring.

Having the extractor part dimensions would help me, and also be a good reference for everyone IMO.

Thank you, Peter.

Mini is ~.187” wide, std ~.250” wide. Very obvious when side by side.

Excellent! Thank you very much. In my particular instance, I have the Mini M16. All my parts are new and close analysis revealed that the shoulders of the extractor at the spring end, don’t exactly match the machined relief in the bolt. A bit of hand stoning of the extractor in the appropriate spots, and checking with black magic marker showed clearance. Mock up now has free movement. Roll pin installed, and the extractor hinges on the spring as intended. Thank you again!
