Is there a rule of thumb regarding pressures between large rifle primers and magnum primers? If pressures seem acceptable with large rifle primers can one expect a change using LR Magnum primers?

Mag primer = + 6K PSI comes to mind... read that several place on the internet.. ;)

Glad I inquired....far greater increase than I would have imagined...thanks

Guess it depends on the load and type of powder. I don't shoot max velocity loads generally & I have found that the magnum primers give me lower ES & SD with stick powders without changing the overall velocity. That is changing between Fed 210 and 215 primers.
