Lost Scope in House

I hate to say this I’m embarrassed I bought a Zeiss scope 6 x24 about eight months ago had a custom 22 creedmoor being built just received the rifle today guess what can’t find the scope looked everywhere in the house gone just gone have any of you ever heard of such a dumb thing I don’t know what to say
It will be in the last place you looked. Tommy Mc

Yep’ took a stock FM radio out of my truck and placed it in my small storage room ,went to find it a couple years later …. No joy for almost three years , finally one day I looked right on the shelf and guess what ? The damn thing was right in front of me all that time.
Yeah. That kind of stuff really messes with my head. I regularly find stuff right where I had been looking.

A few years ago, I got an invite to dove hunt. Went and bought a case of Herter's 20s at Cabela's. Used a box the first year and have no idea where the remainder is.
Edit" I'm still looking for the ejector pin out of a Remington 700 that went flying about ten years ago. I figure some sort of aliens infiltrated the reloading room and made off with it.

Can I ask you guys are Burris scope any good?
A Burris you have to go buy isn’t as good as a Zeiss you already bought ;). Another thing that may help is to look for it with a 3 D-Cell LED Maglite. If you do that in a shelved but windowless utility closet that is full, you come away with a completely different impression of what’s in it.

I bet that you find three other valuable items in the process. No scope left behind, soldier. I think this bothers me, more than you :).

I always place my stuff I don’t want to lose in a safe place so I wont forget where I put it. Unfortunately, it’s always the last place I look.

Well not sure about that. I haven't lost a scope...yet....but I "misplaced " a wad of cash and knew I stashed it somewhere different. Picked up a scope box out of my gun safe and it was empty....except for the $$$ in it.

Searching for things has become my new hobby.

While crossing the border into Canada last week, they found a holster for my 38 that wasn't lost, along with a speed loader. They thought they had me, tore us apart like we were mid 70 retired terrorists.....I said aren't they legal, they replied, yes. So they went out and searched more. The major azzhole came in and I asked if he found my log chain and jumper cables in a compartment. He wouldn't answer. I said no more.

Check the freezer, I found the bottom metal for a FN rifle I’m restoring in my freezer just two months ago.
Funny you said that!…. 20 years or so ago was getting ready to head out mountain lion hunting, ran down to my range and double checked zero on my Sako triple duece threw everything in the rig came back in to eat supper. The boys and I headed out I happened to look down where’s the clip!?… idk Dad you was shooting it!…. Spent the rest of the night looking for it!… gave up used a 22-250 and ordered a new clip!… couple three weeks later the wife was digging for some steaks in the freezer….. incidentally I had threw quite the baby fit the night I couldn’t find it?… that night she served me a Sako Riihimaki .222 clip for supper!…. Now that’s funny right there!

Looked for a holster I knew I had because I made it. It was not in the "holster tote." I KNEW I had it, searched for what seemed like an hour. Looked absolutely everywhere. Could not find it. I finally resolved myself to accept that is was gone. Thrown out, given away, whatever. Gone.

The next day I went to the tool box drawer where a certain specific wrench is always kept. Guess what, not there! So the search began. Never did find the wrench but guess what I found while looking for it.

Now here's a good one, and you wouldn't believe how often similar things happen around here. Freaky! Yesterday, about noon. I was in the home office/computer room. I had my reading glasses. I got up to go to another room. I put the glasses in my shirt pocket. I went straight to the other room. When I arrived I did not have my glasses. Huh, I'm sure I put them in my pocket. Went back to look. Not anywhere in the computer room. Went back to the other room. They're not there. I went back and forth several times. Not in either room, not in the hallway between the two, not in any pockets. Checked, double, triple and quadruple checked. Just disappeared.

I was home alone for the rest of the day and up and down that hall numerous times. Wife came home about 5 and also throughout the evening until bed time up and down that hall. Bedtime, she went to sleep first and I did later. I was the last person to walk down that hall. I had showered and put on sleeping clothes, no longer wearing the day's clothing.

When we got up this morning there in the absolute center of the hall way was my reading glasses.
It just gets worse as you age especially with your wife
