Looks like the AMP Annealer will have some competition soon

While it's nice to know what the hardness number is, for shooting consistency, does it really matter to know it as long as you're getting consistency?
I have no idea. I know amp shoots for 90-105 . Which I believe is what factory new Lapua brass tests at. Just something to consider.

Yeah see I can’t help but wonder if it’s a bad idea to spend a bunch of money on a tool made in a gun-unfriendly country same as New Zealand if you ever need support down the road.
We make some good stuff over here and we love our guns. Most of the stuff you buy is from China anyway

Never said that you didn’t make good stuff

Never questioned your love for guns

I question your country because it’s less than gun friendly

Maybe I missed it on the Quick Anneal website, but I can’t see how It relates the value derived from the ‘test’ function back to the actual hardness required to achieve correct annealing, for a given brass type / metallurgy? My reading of the instructions, is you stop the ‘test’ once the case neck starts to glow?

That is correct . After talking with quick anneal. Turns out their “test” button is actually a start/stop/timer nothing more. They stated that the percentage given was “the percentage past recrystalization “ . Fact is they don’t even try to back that claim up. After looking at what other users have already posted it can’t differentiate between different brands as they stated either. In the end the quick anneal operates no different than an Annie, handheld induction Annealer, or a annealeez. You watch for a glow and stop the timer. The only difference is it spits the case out the bottom. I was hoping the AMP would have some competition soon. However the quick anneal isn’t it. I ended up ordering a AMP

Same here ... I love my AMP and the support has been terrific. That said, different and imaginative solution that requires no pilot and no case holder ... it'll be interesting to see how they pull that off. Their market isn't AMP owners ... who already are happy with their solution. Their market is the "Wish I could afford AMP" reloader that is still lighting up propane torches in their garages.
Because its really hard to light up a propane torch in the garage?
