Looking to shoot 1 mile near north carolina

As the title states i am looking for a place near nc to shoot 1 mile. I have made many successful hits out to 1300, and the rifle is a 1\2 moa gun. Im not looking to spend hours lobbing rounds, i feel like this is not a hard task. We dont really have anywhere around here to make extreme shots. More than a mile would even be better. I would be willing to pay range fees if someone has a place myself and 2 or 3 other capable shooters could waste some ammo. Thanks David Patton

I don't think the class would hurt anything but your pocketbook. You may even learn something from Dan.
SAVE UP!

Maybe you should take out a loan? Or do some extra chores? ;)

Already got enough loans, and chores dont pay around here. Just regular homeowner responsibilities. I may send dan an email, i thought i read one time where 338s werent allowed there but i could be mistaking.

I can shoot to quite a bit over that in NC but it is private and I am blessed to be accepted. The risk for a landowner is huge with large calibers. Asking to accept 1 more that neither the owner and I know is pushing it, but several more is out of the question. If it helps you, you would do well to avoid terms such as "waste some ammo". Anyone firing those distances should be learning something from EVERY shot.

Excuse my terminology, you are correct it wouldn't really be a waste due to the notes we could make for future shots. I knew there wasnt a good chance i would get any offers from here but it was worth a shot. Will contact dan for the private class and go from there

bumping this back to the top...Im off a few days for Christmas and would like to do some shooting. I talked with Dan at Bangsteel and he currently doesn't have any targets at 1 mile other than a rock. He said the spot isnt accessible to hang a target. Anyone with a few hours of Hickory NC have a spot? I really wish this rifle would hurry up and sell so i wouldn't have this issue anymore!

BangSteel.com - Yes, Dan and the property owner do require that you take a class in order to shoot on the property. I can tell you from first hand experience that the class is worth the cost and then some. You won't find a nicer and more knowledgeable group than Dan, Forest & the rest of the instructors. The class is two days and you will fire 150+ rounds. The range he uses is a great place as well.
