Look at you guys pushing your wildcats at a Newby! Go easy on him. Little steps, please! I suggested the Dasher because it’s a great performer and dies, brass and load info are readily available. We have to draw these guys in slowly, bit by bit.

Howdy !
Well… the OP DID say:
- “… starting to look for a new round “.
- “…not looking for any very common rounds “.
- “…love to hear from the out[ side ] of the box thinkers “.
- “…like to get a little weird with this one “.
Sounded like a “wildcat “, to me !
I designed, case formed, and did load development on my first wildcat; after having been doing CF reloading for only 2yr ( I was 21 at the time ).
That effort resulted in a great wildcat, tailored to me my specific shooting needs.
Right now, I am getting ready to send the reamer for this wildcat, rifle action, action
wrench; and sample cases along with a new Bartlein gain twist off to the riflesmith.
This will be my third barrel chambered for this wildcat… all having different twist rates and barrel lengths.
There can be a lot of appeal in wildcatting.
IMHO…. a lot of shooters who ARE capable of working w/ wildcats don’t….
many ( incorrectly ) believing a wildcat project lies beyond the scope of their abilities/capabilities.
Let us not “ sell ourselves short “.
