I'm starting to look for a new round, and I know a lot of people will say... well what are you going to use it for?
well. I'm thinking to start off with let's think about accuracy out to 500, then I'd like to consider it in a bolt action set up and lastly, for everything between coyotes to white tail for hunting. (And no, I'm not looking for any "very common rounds" I'd love to hear from the out of the box thinkers. I respect all. but I'd like to get a little weird with this one. haha
so, let's hear the comments, please and thank you.

I've been thinking along the same lines. Just built a 7 SAUM for F Class, yet to be tested in competition. Got the tried and true 6.5 Creedmoor and 6 BRA, both for F Class. Got decent 223's both gas and bolt. Got other esoteric stuff like 1885 high wall and low wall and other stuff that rarely gets shot. I should just shoot what I've got but what I've really got is a habit that I seem to have no control over. Perhaps a 6 GT would scratch the itch...

300 Ham'r.

Easy hits on 10" steel out to 400yd even using a fixed 5x prism scope. That was in a semi AR platform. Very light weight. 2500 fps. 1ragged hole at 50 yd..

You could seriously improve on that in a bolt gun.

Howdy !

How’s about a 6mm wildcat, that does not require custom reamers, custom case forming and re-loading dies; and is formed off a readily available parent case that has not been extensively wildcatted ?

I am including a pic of my wildcat “ DEEP 6 “, which meets the criteria listed above.
The pic shows a Sierra 95 T-MK seated.

For a detailed description of “ DEEP 6 “ case forming, please see my post titled
“ DEEP 6 “ dated 04 May 2022, with 357Mag as the post-er. It was a series of 6 segments.

With regards,

Howdy, again !

Here are some pics of various groups I shot using different powders and bullets in my
“ DEEP 6 “.

I’m not a fantastic shot by any means, none the less… the pics an info should give you some sense of the wildcat’s capabilities.

Oops…. Forgot to mention.

In the pic above, “ .22-35 Remington is shown w/ 75 “ A-Max “ seated

I may be a bit prejudiced since I own and shoot one.

25-284 throated to take the 131gr Sierra/BJ bullets. If you prefer, you can use a Nosler Partition for deer.
Simple process to neck the 6.5-284 factory brass down about .007" with no need to anneal or lose any brass during the process. LAPUA & NORMA both offer brass.

Options could be a 25GT, or someone on here has a 260 Remington necked down to .257. That shoots very well.
