Looking for a reloading Mentor

Hello all,

If you have read any of my posts you can tell that I am new to reloading and have a bunch on questions and concerns about the hobby. I have read and watch various books and videos trying to educate myself in reloading, but nothing helps greater than being able to discuss issues directly with a person. I am not a member of any local clubs or organizations as a resource.

So I was wondering if anyone is interested helping me out that lives in south east Michigan or is willing to talk directly over the phone?

If so please send me a personal message and I can reply with my phone number or e-mail.
Thank you, Bob

Just a thought that might help you, unless you know the person, personally or my reputation , always keep in mind that opinions are like certain body parts; everyone has one and to others both are full of the same stuff.
When three or more people tell you X Y Z you can consider what they said as good advice.

It would help to know what you are going to load for rifle or pistol. Then what the ammo is going to be used for such as hunting or informal targets.

I suppose your saying se Michigan and not se Upper Peninsula of Michigan. If in the UP, myself or some of the guys at the gun club could help.

I am trying to learn reloading of rifle loads for hunting and casual shooting only. 200 yards is a chip shot for most of you, where I'm at it's a long shot. ;)

Thank you, Bob

Sorry for not being clear, I'm located in the south east portion of the Lower Peninsula. The Mitten. ;D

Bob, I am new to this game too as well as to this site and have asked a lot of questions and can tell you that there are a lot of great guys (so far only guys! :-[) that are happy to help. Many of us also like to see the answers to questions posed by others. Educational for all. BobK

Sierra hotline is your friend: 800-223-8799
RCBS:530-533-5191. 800-379-1732.
Hodgdon Powder. 913-362-9455.
Nosler: 800-285-3701.

These are all your personal reloading buddies. They haver helped me countless times.

Good luck and be safe. No short cuts. No distractions.
If you have smart phone to take pics and send helps a bunch.

PO Ackley books 1 and 2 . Here you will get a lot that tell you their load. Many in here will help you to learn also. Sierra loading manual is good also. Larry

Truthfully the lyman 49th edition or later has a lot of great imfo to read. Do ask questions even if you think people will think its simple because to you it isn't and that is what we are here for to begin with.

Thank you to all that responded to my post, trust me I still will post questions on this forum so we all can learn from the experts. I have met and talked to some really good people from this forum and plan on hopefully one day being able to help others with what I have learned about reloading. For all that have sent contact and resource information to me for help, Thank you, I will only ask for help when I really have no other avenue of support.

I have to also include Accurate Shooter.com and the folks behind it in my Thanks, without this forum learning the reloading process for the first time I would really be a tough task.

Bob,

In addition to The "Lyman 49th Edition" already mentioned, the current "Lee 2nd Edition" is very good for a tutorial:

Here is a book I have and really like (now apparently out of print, but Amazon seems to have both used and new - expensive! - ones):

You could go to the Williamsport 1000 yd. bench rest school. It covers reloading in depth.
