Looking for a New Press

I have a coax I've been using for 22 years. Contrary to belief you can use a collet bullet pulling die. Just have to remove the handle and tighten. Easy enough. I have over 150,000 loaded rounds on mine and still looks and functions new. Scott

Forster Coax would be my choice.

Nothing wrong with a Coax but I prefer my Summit. I can mount it just about ANYWHERE and don't have to have a place for the bottom half of the press to hang over an edge. No "Knee Knocker" if you sit in front of your press. Every bit as precise and over $100 less expensive.

I also run a Lee Classic Cast along with a Co-Ax (well, the precursor from Bonanza). I agree with Danny that the Co-Ax should be a second press. There are certain operations you can't do on a Co-Ax. For example, I use the Lee Quick Trim system. A chamber die sits in the press and a cutter extends down through the chamber to trim the case mouth, chamfer and bevel all in one fell swoop. I have to do this on the Lee O press because the wishbone arm on the Co-Ax would interfere with the handle for the cutter or the cordless drill. However, Co-Ax is known for producing very concentric ammo.

The Lee press is better at pulling cases down out of the die after sizing. The Co-Ax is weak on downward motion. There is an aftermarket part to beef up the jaw retainer, but I haven't sprung for it.

I am very impressed with my Forster dies. I sent the full length sizer die to the factory for custom honing. There is no floating insert in my FLS die and I believe this leads to less runout in sized cases... but then that's not the topic of this thread.

look around for an RCBS A4. If speed is not a priority, buy an RCE.

There are none better than the Forester Co-Ax. They cost but they are great presses.
If you have a good press now(I don't know about the simplex) But if it is stiff and does not flex any I would just get some real good dies. Redding and Forester Both make very nice match die sets. Look into the 3 die rifle sets or the s bushing sets.
No Turret Press is going to as accurate as a good SS Press(Now I am going to get flamed by all the Lee turret lovers) The Redding T-7 is close but no cigar.

Rock Chucker Supreme is a fine press with a horrid plastic holder for spent primers. You will be sweeping up after each decapping session.

I have a Supreme press also and cured the primer problem once and for all.

I've been running a Forster Co-Ax B2 since 2000. I went completely on the Sinclair Tech's recommendation and have NEVER regretted it for a second in all of those years. Learned to load on an RCBS Junior. I own the following single stage presses:

Forster B2 Co-Ax I never needed, or really wanted, more...
Forster B5 Co-Ax (Good deal over Christmas from Brownells and I was bored)
RCBS First Generation RockChucker rebuilt by RCBS in 2004. Ultra tight and a joy to use. $40 invested total including shipping...
RCBS A4 Big Max that is like new with both types of shellholders. Neither has the blueing worn off of them. A reminder of the 80's and being a kid who used to dream of reloading gear in the Christmas Wish Book..;-)
Turban Prazi 105mm. Unreal build and largely just because I wanted it. Ends "which press is better pissing contest" without saying a word...

Only one I need? My Co-Ax... Would keep the B-5, however, the B-2 is perfect.

Last one of the extras that I would part with? The A-4 Big Max...

BTW, The only thing the Co-Ax won't do is work with PMA's Micro Die Adjuster. I LOVE those little expensive b******s and use them with Prazi. FWIW... Dunno as they are needed. Whidden's click adjustable dies would almost do the same thing... Not that you NEED either one...IMHO
