Looking for a Chronograph

So I am in market for a Chronograph to check my loads. Any ones you folks would recommend or stay away from?
I have my eye on a Caldwell g2 but everyone is out of stock and or back ordered.
sure a lab radar would be too goal but realistically way out of my budget.
I have used friends simple caldwell in past but life changes and job schedules having trouble getting together.
the app feature of the Caldwell is really appealing if it works.

I have a LabRadar and a MagnetoSpeed. It’s hard to beet the MagnetoSpeed for simplicity.
My LabRadar at least, takes a little playing with to run consistently where it picks up all the shots. My MagnetoSpeed picks up every one.
I like any chronograph that I don’t have to set up down range.

Magnetospeed sporter (.5-1.0 barrel) is 179.99@ Midway, says not to use with rimfire or air rifles. Your caliber/velocity or need to use for archery will determine type of chronograph also.

Bought the Sporter first ... it was a plastic POS (IMHO). If Magnetospeed is the choice, the V3 is the way to go.

I have a Magneto Speed. It's all I need. Lab Radar is nice, but I cannot justify that kinda money for my use. The Magneto Speed fits in my gun bag and is there if I need it in the field or where ever. I have the Sporter. It works for me.
I also have Shooting Chrony, that gathers dust.

Just bite the bullet and order the Labradar. Buy once cry once. Mine works flawlessly and I miss no more than 1 out of every 100 shots, and it’s usually something I did wrong. So far I see no downside to the Labradar.

I know it's not the ultimate, but I like my Caldwell Ballistic Precision chrono. I use their app on my phone and it records all my results while I shoot, and I can look at it any time I have my phone. I can go through the info later at my house while evaluating my groups. It records the ES, average speed, etc. It's $74.99 at Midway and probably cheaper other places.

I must be lucky - my Magnetospeed Sporter works just fine. Hate the packaging though - I could never get it back in the tube thingy, and just when you do, you find one of the spacers that you forgot to put in.

I agree with what the man said ^^^

If you are on a budget. sporter is a good starting point then you can upgrade to the V3 or just start with the V3.

The V3 has a better display and easier to maneuver around the options, but they both do the same thing.

IMO, Don't buy the shoot through chronographs, you will get frustrated, harder to set up and harder to deal with.

Check Optics planet. I just bought the G2 from them a couple weeks ago. They also were the best price around. Looks like there still in stock.

I'm still using an old PACT chrono. I've shot over a Lab Radar from a friend and that is what I'd get if I were to replace my PACT.

I looked at the magneto speed but wondered how it could effect harmonics poi etc.
I’m am new to reloading (2-3 years) but have found it exciting to shrink group sizes and trying to really get into what my rifles like and not just making it go bang.
The shoot through kind does make me wonder how finicky it will be at the range like not being able to make adjustments till cease fire brakes etc
