Look at this crazyness I found at local store

Well Lefty, as I have stated on this forum, an often been flamed for, keep paying the ransom and it will keep climbing. Indicative of people today, lack of self control and self discipline. If you have been around any the last several election cycles and got caught short....Well, you earned it.I have heard numerous shooters who say they have powder and bullets for a year or more but no primers, how do you do that?
I've run low on primers myself, but early on I made the mistake of selling them to support a few friends that reload as needed. Before I realized what I have done I sold half my stock of primers and powders, won't do that dumb ass move again! I did make it through this season but did run out of some powders I like and primers are at a critical level.

PRICES WILL CONTINUE RISING AS LONG AS PEOPLE PAY THESE PRICES.

As someone with extensive retail experience, I know that you DO NOT drop your price when ppl are tripping over each other and elbowing each other in the throat to pay it.

In fact, you raise the price in order to see how much of the buyers money you can separate from them.

And you lower price only when ppl stop paying the higher price.

Lefty....in the course of my life I have painfully found out many times being a nice guy while sometimes reaping rewards has just as often caused some type of pain. Physical, financial, emotional.....pick one. I find the older I get the less trusting I have become.

I could’ve bought 8 lbs of RE26 on Sunday for $320 plus 7% tax. I wouldn’t do it. As much as I’d have liked to, I wouldn’t do it.

I have powder and primers, I can wait.

ETA I will buy 16 lbs when it gets to a new normal lower price though. If

I m not going to personally pay these extortion prices. If people will quit the madness, or at least cutback, the retailers will quit elbowing us in the throat ( as mentioned above). If prices never come down then I ll spend my hard earned money doing other activities. I will make sure to keep enough ammo and components to feel safe in my own home or when traveling but I ve had enough of the gouging!

Hope others are getting their fill too as it ll help all of us with this cause. My opinion.

No good deed goes unpunished !!!!

i have powder, primers and bullets to last several years or more.Glad I don't have to cave to this insanity

I posted this before. Back when PV had CCI 450's for $65.00 @ 1000 I should have bought 2000 just to have so I don't have to shoot sparingly. They definitely are steadily going up every time they have them in stock.

Sure hope this crazy pricing don't last forever. Took a picture of this factory loaded ammo but seen other things that were just as bad or worse. One of the guys working at the gun counter said that people are backing off buying guns now because of the pricing of ammo and cleaning supplies. A large bottle of Hoppes #9 was over $30 bucks, bronze bore brushes are $9.99 each!

its gonna last longer than otherwise because lots of guys like me who never bought a lot lot will be buying a lot lot if this stuff ever stabilizes and that will just prolong it.

Local farm and ranch store had primers, limit 200. Cost me $6.99/100 + tax CCI 450's

At our range sight-in-days, one guy was shooting a 300 PRC. Shot 8 rounds and said "there went $40". Gave me the brass (nephew loads this).

Just came back from Murdoch's here.. Stopped by the gun section and a clerk was stocking the shelves with a ton of ammo and some primers. Bought a few boxes of 22MAg, they also had a ton of 22lr.. CCI BR1 primers were $80/1000. Don't need primers.

Might want to shop elsewhere. A quart bottle of #9 is $13 on Amazon. Bristle brushes are also cheap on both Amazon and Ebay...

That is quite literally the million dollar question. In my 60 years and six months on this great planet I have learned to trust my instincts and gut feeling. The overwhelming percentage of things that I have reasoned this way have been correct in my life anyway. About two years into the Trump administration I sensed a perfect storm brewing. Since I enjoy the games that I play with my guns I decided to stock up little by little when all the bills were paid. Places were actually offering deals and discounts buying components. In today’s political atmosphere no matter who will be in office and again this is my gut feeling from now on it will be challenging to say the least. I believe once you cry wolf loud enough you set the bar. The cost of raw material to make things has gone up and I am guessing not coming down much at all. Retailers know that we are willing to spend pretty much whatever it takes to enjoy our sport. And their costs go up for numerous reasons. The whole situation is a sad state of affairs. I feel really bad for the younger generation that we are hoping will replace us as responsible shooters and hunters. I’m glad I grew up when I did.
I believe they are trying to kill the value of the dollar.
