Long shots. In the field, under less than ideal conditions, I limit my shooting to 300 yards. I can and have shot much further off the bench. With my ass in the dirt and crossed sticks, that is long enough for me. I shot 17 Remington, topped with a 6.5X20 Leupold, and 30 grain Berger's and feel that I am successful with my rig. I hunt the Sheboygan River Marsh north to the Michigan border. My only complaint would finding areas where a longer shot would be possible. The timber wolf invasion has dropped coyote numbers since the eighties.
