Bipolar is definately made for colder weather. The lube is different just for that purpose. It ain't cheap and I only have one gun that likes it. When shooting in the cold I have come to accept the fact that groups are going to be 60-75% bigger than on a 55+ day. I have found that the affects are worsened on longer barrels than short ones. I have a Sako quad that I have 2 rock creek barrels for that were made one right after the other and LRI did the work on them to be as identical as humanly possible. One is 16" and the other is 26". On warm days the longer barrel always will out shoot the shorter one. On days under 50 the shorter one starts to shoot better. When it's below zero, the short one shoot quite a bit better than the longer one.
