Leupold 45x

Well they have 39 scopes listed under competition and by far most are new models and variable power, mostly Mark 4HD and 5HD, plus a few others. The 45x apparently was added back to the site on accident. It seems what's happening is their focus is more on PRS and other competition vs traditional.
And that's fine, continuously introducing new products to keep pace with evolving markets and new technologies is essential to staying competitive.

It's just that discontinuing ALL service and support for older (or not-so-old) models that's disturbing, especially if there isn't anything on the 'new products' list that is functionally equivalent to the models that Leupold will no longer service.

Your statement is absolute nonsense, they continue to service old models, I have a VXIII BR 36x that is in the mail being returned after service. It was manufactured in 1989.

Did you happen to read the first post in this thread?

The Competition 45X45 was listed in the 2020 Leupold catalog, so if I had bought one in 2020 and found that Leupold would no longer service it today I'd probably be upset. I do not own any Leupold Competition scopes, but I do own multiple Leupold scopes of assorted models and vintages and am now curious as to which of them can be serviced by Leupold.

I'll try to get clarification from Leupold tomorrow on exactly what scopes (if any) are 'no longer being serviced', and if that means no standard clean, lubricate and adjust service, or just no service that requires replacement of parts.

They service anything they have parts for. You must send it in, they evaluate the issue and whether they have parts, if they do it gets fixed, if not they punt. I had found a new 45x at a retailer just last fall, what they should have done was know they were low on parts for that model and pull back existing inventory so they would have enough to service those out in the wild for years to come. Clearly they didn't do that.
