I commend you for the effort you put into your reloading and not debasing me cause I do not do it.

heck, truth be told, you are probably smarter and definitely saner than me because of my chosen path. seems like insanity sometimes what br guys go through just shoot 5 rounds into a little bitty group!! have a great day and it was nice talking to you.

Just goes to show that these type targets are pure luck, otherwise it would happen more often. This is not meant to take anything away from the shooters that shot the records.

well here are the NBRSA records as of 2003. Most of the scores were pre 2000. While I agree there is always a bit of luck involved, in particular when environmental effects are concerned to me it seems as if the technology of today seems to have had little effect on the average shooters groups

No AMP annealers, no Autothrows, hydro presses, or Sartorius scales could have influenced those scores.

Now I am no world class shooter but in the four years since I got serious about the hobby I have improved and am getting a lot more .2's and .3 and am starting to get the rare .1 group. Almost all of the techniques and tools I reloaded with this morning were available 20 or more years ago. Only new tech I used is a electronic scale and that is more because of the time factor involved than because of any effect on my ammo quality. Just speaking for myself here but practice at the range seems has seemed to help me shrink my group sizes more than any reloading room technique or toy. Now my shooting gear has improved, but even that is pretty much the same as what was being used 20 years ago

No doubt they're statistical anomalies AND it took exceptional shooters to have the capability of doing it. Both things can be true. SRBR shooters are well aware of the randomness of a single small group, that's why match winners are based on aggregates.

Inside neck reaming?? I think the burnished finish inside the neck is ideal. I can’t see where a bunch of tool marks would be of any benefit.

After 40 years of tool making in one venue or another, I got reaming
down pretty good. Straight and smooth. Actually it's easier then doing
a chamber. Once you got your setup made....run with it.
