Let's see your range dogs (real ones, not bad guns)

Yes, I had a Great Dane years ago, couldn't help himself God bless him.
Should say there is a Pyrranean Mtn Dod in my neighborhood called Max. He is young but I have ruined him. If he sees my garage door open he sits down and won't go on. When he was younger he would be picked up and carried off, but he's just too big now. He is the most delightful dog, but is also a slobber factory. Change of clothes -- shirt anyway, required after greeting Max properly.
Bart loved to sit in the garage and survey his street. I left him out there for about twenty minutes and when I returned, he was gone. Just got to the sidewalk to look for him when I saw my neighbor from two doors down walking toward me. He asked me to come get Bart because he didn't want to annoy him. Bart was doing exactly the same thing in his garage. I told Bart it was time to go home and he got right up and followed me. At 210 pounds, there was no carrying.

As for drool, old towels pre-positioned around the house and washable latex paint are your friends.

Java was my shadow for 14 years. His hips gave out Dec 28 2021 and had to put him down. We stopped at McD’s for ice cream on the way to the vets. Java came from the humane society and loved playing in water.

G, our 5 year old dobie with uncut ears, ready to catch a snowball.

He enjoys going to the range but isn't a fan of the loud guns. His routine is that we show up and he goes down range with me to setup targets, then knows to go and lay in the truck while I shoot. When I am done, he comes out and we go down to check targets together.

This is my girl Ellie. When I found her at a remote gun range she was a severely underweight stray. She carries some physical and emotional scars from her former life as a stray but she has blossomed into a loyal and obedient friend although she can be a little over protective at times. Unfortunately she doesn’t like guns.

My first Doberman had trimmed ears. The next four didn’t. I think they look better with ears!

You spared him a lot of pain and discomfort. Good on you.

My first 3 dobies that I had as pups all had natural ears and full tails.

My next 2 rescues from shelters had natural ears, but already docked tails when we got them.

The last one was already cropped and docked when we adopted her from animal control.

This is our first puppy from a breeder and she was already cropped and docked.

We really tried to find a rescue dog again... called, emailed, and texted just about every shelter that popped up within a 500 mile radius any time a female dobie popped up. It's nearly impossible now to actually adopt a dog. We finally gave in and went with a reputable breeder. We did a ton a research to find ones that are well regarded for their humane breeding practices and wouldn't go to a mill or backyard breeder who did questionable things.
