Bart loved to sit in the garage and survey his street. I left him out there for about twenty minutes and when I returned, he was gone. Just got to the sidewalk to look for him when I saw my neighbor from two doors down walking toward me. He asked me to come get Bart because he didn't want to annoy him. Bart was doing exactly the same thing in his garage. I told Bart it was time to go home and he got right up and followed me. At 210 pounds, there was no carrying.Yes, I had a Great Dane years ago, couldn't help himself God bless him.
Should say there is a Pyrranean Mtn Dod in my neighborhood called Max. He is young but I have ruined him. If he sees my garage door open he sits down and won't go on. When he was younger he would be picked up and carried off, but he's just too big now. He is the most delightful dog, but is also a slobber factory. Change of clothes -- shirt anyway, required after greeting Max properly.
As for drool, old towels pre-positioned around the house and washable latex paint are your friends.
