That thing looks great greg. How fast you think you can get them 75's and what powder are you planning on using. My Pops (arw) runs a 6 Ackley with the 87's and hammers them.

It got me wanting a heavier varmint gun so here's what I came up with this year. We will see if the extra BC and KE will make up for the bullet drop.

Eliseo tactical model
Pierce tube gun action
28" 1/9 Krieger
.284 win

Potatoe

I did a 10 twist 6mm ai last year and love that gun. I think i have found my favorite caliber as now I basically have twins - one for 87 gr and one for 75. Overkill, and financially not the best decision but its fun so what the hell.

I think i can push the 75s to 3850 or so being such a slow twist.

How do you like your 7mm? I was thinking .284 shehane for next year

Yeah those 75's should do a great job. I haven't shot anything with the 7mm yet, when I do I'll be doing another video post of it

Rem 700 in 17/204. McMillan Edge stock pillar bedded, Lilja 9 twist barrel, Jewell 2 oz trigger, PT&G bolt with Sako extractor. Shoots real good! Vic

Blueprinted Rem 700
Kreiger 1:8 twist chambered in 6mm Remington with a .268 tight neck, threaded with brake
Kelbly stock pillar bedded and painted by me
Jewell 1.5 oz benchrest trigger
Kelbly 1 piece base
Kelbly double screw 30mm rings
Nightforce Competition 15-55x52

I've got a load of 55gr Nosler Varmageddons going 4k using Norma brass made from necked down and fire formed 7mm Mauser. I can push them to 4200 but jackets fail from the fast twist.

I've got some Berger 108's to play with for the longer shots. I haven't been able to work on a load yet. Waiting on the weather. It will have it's first outing in a couple months on the prairie dog trip.

kick ass guns guys

can we get a pic of a loaded round of your 17/204 VLC

wow on the paint job ryguy!!! beautiful

Thanks Greg. Believe it or not, that's just a rattle can job done in my basement using factory touch up paint from a chopper I had a few years back. You should see it with the clear coat done. There's no clear in the photo. Long story.

What are the colors of that stock. My wife really likes that pattern.

Don't know for sure. That's the color it came from the factory. It doesn't appear to be paint. More like molded into the stock material. A gel coat maybe?

Will try to get a pic of the 17/204 round posted later.

Update: According to the McMillan website the finish is a molded in Marble in Medium blue and White. It does seem to be a gelcoat. Vic

Her are 2 new ones I've built over the last few months. IN the back is a 6x45 I built using a used ppc barrel I purchased from member Tim Singleton.

In the front is The Hooligan 6BR.

And some targets from checking zeros today. The guns will probably shoot better than that, but it's about as good as I can do prone off a bipod some days.

Just noticed I forgot the 4 in 6x45 when labeling the target. Please forgive the error, gents.

I should probably add that both are 700's with Holland handles welded on.

6x45 sits in a Boyds Thumbhole stock I picked up on sale a few years back. Barrel is a 14 twist 4 groove Kreiger.
I Cerakoted the metal with H series matte black. MK4 base with lapped XTR rings and a 6-24 SFP MOA Vortex Viper PST. She was built to be an economical high volume prairie dog gun. The groups were shot with unprepped Black Gun brass. To say I'm impressed with the 6x45 so far would be something of an understatement.

The 6BR sits in a T5 Manners. Barrel is a RVC Bartlein 8 twist. Finish by Krylon, LOL. NF base and rings. Glass is a 5-22 x 56 NXS with MOART reticle. Bottom metal is PTG with AICS mags.

6.5SAUM isn't new, but finally got the Micky GameScout for it. Was able to bed it in, last weekend. Had it out to the range yesterday to confirm zero & accuracy with a proven load, and it was hammerin' ...

Re-barreling a couple others, too. One a 6x45AI, the other a 6x47L. Gonna be a fun Spring-Summer!

Good shootin' & enjoy your new goodies, gents!

Thank you, Greg!
Tough to see, but my 'smith turned a Badger Thruster blank down to .750" to blend in with the barrel. Recoil is quite tolerable without it, but the brake makes it a real pleasant to shoot. If you are beside it when shooting, it will depressurize your sinuses... ;)

Here is my 300WSM this will be my Ridgway silhouette gun and my ground hog gun too. (for those that know me it will be a miracle if I keep it more than one shoot!)

those tube chassis are sexy as hell...i'll have to build one next year in something like 6BR or Dasher...something easy to load and accurate to 600
