lets see your Magnetospeed setups.

This is always an interesting topic. There is a lot of engineering and money that goes into some of the mounts I see. I always wonder if everyone that built or bought one of those mounts actually had a need for them. I have an older mode V2. I tested it early on against my old Pact screen chrono. They were very close. I tested it for POI change and did see some on my light barreled rifles. I usually work up a load to where the groups are small and I think I am close to the velocity node I am looking for. On goes the Magneto Speed to see if I am in the ball park. I have shot a lot of groups with it on that were just as good as off with almost no POI shift.

Depends on the rifle if you get shift. I always used my V2 on my rifle and the V3 in the pic earlier I got the Wiser mount for because I don't want to waste components anymore and can do two things at once on any rifle so it's worth the money for me. Some don't need them and that's fine too.

I tested the V2 years ago against my Oehler 35. The very small difference I saw I chocked up to the V2 at the muzzle and the Oehler at 15 feet.

I guess i should have specified....... tuning 1000 yard bench gun.....no bipod....no pic. rails. shooting off of a front rest. I will say that I have no issues drilling holes and attaching to the end of the stock since it is damaged anyway.
I've thought about rigging one off the front rest, maybe somehow incorporate the mount into the front stop. If it's lined up with the stop it should be lined up with the barrel I'd think.

You will if it’s too close. I did on my last session with a Wiser mount.

I use the magnetospeed height bar and set it as I did when attaching to the barrel and there hasn't been any issues on the 4 rifles I have used it on so far. My buddy has had his longer than I have and no issues either. Guess I will worry about it if it happens. LOL

A huge thanks to 1badgoat!I got some cheap 1" QD rings(low and high hts.),1" CF tube, and a cheap pic rail and made 1 each for my CA 338LM MPR and my CA 300WM BA Tactical.Took me a bit of time to get the bayonet to work on both rifles(had to increase the sensitivity a little on the MPR mount because of the slightly larger gap)but went to the range last week and the mounting system works perfectly! Thanks again brother!
