Let's see your lasers

I don’t watch mine and if I do, it’s through a camera…mine is a 30w fiber and I’ve never done more than 20 passes on anything. All that said, mine looks no different than yours. I clean mine with alcohol and a rag…never used sand paper except to fix a mistake lol

I too use Lightburn. I’m no expert and learn something new about every few times I use it. I need to learn (and I will) if I can use a setting to laser my logo on some plastic ammo boxes.

I need to break down and buy a RotoBoss Rotary to do cups and crap my wife wants done ;)

What type of actuators do these use to so rapidly & accurately move the mirrors? I should google that I suppose. I’d be amazed by if it actually lasted the stated 100,000 hrs. That’d be a LOT of barrels.

Do you know if it works with lightburn?
So, after you having one for awhile, if you had to replace it, what would you replace it with and why?
I've been looking at cloudray and strictly from a prine standpoint, I cant see any reason to spend the extra $$$ unless someone can say something different

I'd get the same one I have. Maybe one with more power now that the prices have come down a bit.

Is the cloudray a MOPA with JPT source?

The heading says JPT MOPA, but i dont see it in the description
"Cloudray QS-30 LiteMarker Pro 30W Fiber Laser Marking Engraver with 4.3” X 4.3” Scan Area & D80 Rotary"
I think i like the fact the one you purchased has a larger scan area, and, if you would purchase the same one again, that tells me a lot.
Thank you

I just got the Omtech 60W Mopa a couple of weeks ago. It took about an hour to get going with it, and I haven’t had time to play with it much. So far I like it, but I will have to do some playing around with settings to get it just right. I engraved the last couple of my 2024 builds with it and have not messed with it since.

A couple of test runs-

You need to go through and adjust your laser timing, it'll clean up that bit of ghosting in your lettering. It'll also help optimize your runtime. Lasereverything has good videos about it on their YouTube.

Thanks, I will look into it.
