Let's here about the 22x47L

What is ridiculous short?

After 600 rounds, I had to clean it after ever 25 shots or so to keep it sub .3”.

After 800, every 15.

Here at 1050, I can clean it very well, shoot one group, and the ones that follow will quickly climb above MOA.

Copper fouling is ridiculous.

I’m having a reamer made for a 6x47 with (according to my measurements) .035 freebore.

Maybe it was just this barrel, maybe it was how hard I pushed it, or maybe it’s just a real barrel eater.

My 22-250 shooting light bullets at slow speeds at a relatively slow pace only lasts 2k or so of great accuracy. I could see a fast twist, heavy bullet, high speed load tearing up the barrel in 1000rnds. Unfortunately there's no way around it other than to back down the speed, pressure, and case size.

How slow?
I have burned out a pile of 22-250's. A large pile. But I have had a few I ran slow with 52gr bullets and got long barrel life. But not shooting p.dogs. They would never get hot.

53gn at 3500 or so. Pretty rapidly opens up to 1 MOA when the barrel is toast.

I built a 22 x 47 L when the brass was first available and love it, although I rarely shoot it anymore. I built the gun hoping to push 80 grain JLK's at 3,200 fps which it did easily, I wanted to easily shoot a prairie dog at 600 yards easily with a 22 caliber bullet. It is very close to the 22-250 but when I built it Lapua did not import 22-250 brass so I necked down the 6.5 x 47L to get similar case capacity with Lapua quality brass. Given Lapua now imports 22-250 brass the 22 x 47 L may not be needed.
Just my 2 cents,
