Lester Bruno is advertising H-4350 in stock

- Supply & demand control prices and it doesn't matter what it is. - And the producers / manufacturers know this. - I personally believe that the producer / manufacturers have more to do with the bottom line price than the wholesalers & retailers do.(Yes they make money because that's what their in business to do) - I started reloading back in the early 1980's, those who where reloading back then can relate to what I'm saying. 1000 primers were less than 10 bucks and canister grade powders were a third of what we now pay. - Fast forward to "The primer shortage" that occurred around 2006 or 7, Primers basically doubled overnight IF they could be found. - The likes of wholesalers & retailers didn't create that and neither did "O'bamster" (G.W.B. was in office) - That shortage was created by the manufacturers just like I believe that the 22 L.R. ammo "shortage" was created by the manufacturers. - I'm not here to complain as the sport has been good to me. But I seldom hear the manufacturers come up when the pot starts to boil about the prices.

Yes, $250 is to damn much for a 8 lb. jug of any powder - I didn't hear anyone taking a run at Hodgdon or ADI or whom ever manufacturers the H-4350. - They know people are going to pay for it & that's why they charge what they do. - Good, Bad or Ugly.

There is an 8 pounder of H4350 on Gunbroker for 375.00, sad thing is somebody will probably buy it.

Buy when you see a fair price and buy enough to last for a bit. It doesn’t hurt to have a bunch of the same lot number anyways.

Sound advice nakneker indeed,

- I won't say how much H-4350 that I have, but I got it back in the days when Wideners Shooters Supply in Johnson City, TN sold a lot of powder. And I'm sure glad I did, having three 300 WSM's to feed and it being my go-to powder for 200 & 210 gr. bullets.

I have plenty of it for my needs and I’ve helped a few others get what they needed too. There is a gun shop in town that does a great job with Hodgdon powders, I was always able to get what I needed within 3 months of an order from them, even during the last couple of years.

I lived in Tenn for a short stint, passed through Johnson City, nice place.

I have no problem admitting that I have 40lbs of the stuff. Was tired of having to shop around for it.

$239.95 at Bruno's;)

We'll have something else to whine about when the Federal gas tax is increased an additional 25 cents per gallon:eek:

You can say whatever you want about Lester’s prices, but I see no reason to do so. If you don’t want to buy something at his price or someone else’s then don’t. Stop griping about it. Lester is a site sponsor, a great and active competitor and I see no reason to keep harping about this. His shop is a haven for competitive shooters. Every time I go to Phoenix to shoot a match I go to his shop and buy something I can’t find at home. And I’ll do so in 2 weeks!

Supply and demand goes both ways, they need to remember that. When supply goes up, consumers remember who gouged them them when supply was down. There's a local shop that took full advantage of the shortage a few years ago. I don't even know of anyone who will step foot in there anymore unless they are absolutely the only option for something. Making 40% on one sale doesn't make up for loosing 20% on 50 sales.

See a few of the bigger vendors have H4350 in stock again now (but likely not for long.... lol).
One of them, PV, has it listed "In Stock" for $184.25 per 8-lbs or $25.75 per pound

Your first sentence is true, you just got the rest wrong.

Jim T. - That's my opinion & I have good reasons for what I've stated & I'll leave it at that.

I don't understand what the purpose of your post is 5 days latter after I posted what I did.
- Really NOT a lot of value in your disagreeing as it only "Trolls" for confrontation or fight picking at this point which I'm not going to entertain it.

I hope that you can find something useful to do with yourself instead of looking for things that you don't fully agree with & then bringing it to "light" 5 days down the line. -

Make use of yourself, Go shooting, Load some ammo, Shovel Some Snow, Have a Cup of Coffee, engage in an intelligent conversation that doesn't "bait" confrontation.

- Respectfully, Ron

You were the one who stated that the manufacturers are creating the shortages, so intelligently back up that statement. Please use documented facts not internet conspiracy theories.

Jim,

This is not Rocket Science - When there WAS plenty of a product and then All of a sudden the product becomes scarce & especially for an extended period of time, that in itself points to the manufactures / producers. If your not onboard with that then I'm not here to Waste Your Time or mine.

I have WAY better things to do than to Waste Time with you because I perceive what your doing as "Trolling" - And I'm at the point to where I've put you on the "Ignore Mode" -

It's "you're" not "your."
