Lester Bruno is advertising H-4350 in stock

I have my LAST Bruno Shooters Supply invoice dated 04/07/2008 sitting here in front of me. Looks like I was building my 7mm-08 AI at that time.

Anyway, since then my net worth has increased almost 4 times and old Lester has not got one dime!!

On the other hand, those dang socialists at Powder Valley have taken me for more than I care to admit!!!

What can I say, I am a Mitt Romney Capitalist !!!!!

BTW, it is "cartridge" not "caliber!"

I think you may have misrepresented your senerio. If both guys had to pay $200 for something that was worth $100, they would both feel gouged.

That is the point of this discussion.
"Had" to pay? No one has to pay for anything they think is too expensive. This badmouthing about Lester should never have started to begin with. If you don't like the prices, buy elsewhere.

I have had a few dealings with Brunos.....All positive. Example....A few years back he bought out another place and ended up with Lapua brass that he blew out right here at more than fair prices. I picked up 1k 30-06 gold box for just over 80 cents a piece with free shipping priority ( saved aprox $40. on shipping alone ). Products are where you find them when you need them at the price they are going for at the time......period. This is a hobby for me & it is not that hard to know what I may need a year or 2 down the line and keep my eye out for the deals at all times.....I think it's part of the enjoyment i get out of all this stuff. If i find myself needing something NOW i am glad there are places to find it and i must and am willing to pay the premium. Two thumbs up for Brunos providing us with a lot of stuff we may need NOW...........

Best Regards
Rick

I don't routinely buy from Brunos but when I do it is often because like you said "Two thumbs up for Brunos providing us with a lot of stuff we may need NOW." Although I try to keep my loading supplies in stock when they start to get low sometimes I get caught off guard and several times Bruno's has been my go to supplier when others are out of stock.

Powder has jumped in price here, latest powders to come in are priced at 39.99 per lb in Lewistown, most has been 32.99 over a year or more, what is a good fair price now?

That's like asking what would be a fair price for one gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. Prices vary from one place to the next.
8lb. for 250 equals 31.25;right now i'm doing 1's for 29.00,,to much I don't know.

If you think that is bad, when Bass Pro has it in stock, their price is $39.99 Something overlooked by many is the overhead costs with vendors in different states, along with the price the vendor is paying for the product.

I like going into brunos. Id rather pay 50$ a lb to lester than 1 cent a lb to cabelas and deal with that hot mess in there. I also dont mind paying extra to family buisness.

Yes, I'm boycotting Bass Pro. I also passed on Varget earlier this year at a LGS cause it was just too high. It was a risk, but I found an 8lber before I ran completely dry.

Another thing is lester is not lining his pockets with anything, hes got bills and familys to pay for just like the rest of us. I highly doubt hes sitting in some multi million dollar home laughing at all of us for paying a few extra dollars. Its just supply and demand.

I really only have Bass Pro and Cabelas in my city - For what it's worth, almost all powders at Bass Pro are 10 dollars more PER POUND than Cabelas... but they'll price match.

Interesting, especially in light of the fact Bass Pro owns Cabela's.

Yeah, Bass Pro is stupid expensive. Cabelas has all the same stuff for 30 percent less. They were happy to price match though. I just showed them the product on my phone from the website.

A lgs sent a recent flyer advertising h4350 for like 198 for 8#ers. So it must be coming around. Funy tho, about 4 months ago I was in a shop in butler and a dusty 8lb keg was just sitting on the floor for sale for 189. So I bought it

It just depends on the location. I have no problem getting it (or varget) for reasonable prices locally. I think the trick might be to find a decent sized shop who does not run an online business.

Talking to Lester a few years ago he told me that sometimes he will buy high demand powder and components for retail price just to have it available in his shop, and by having these component in stock people would visit his shop to buy them and often would buy other items. This gets people in his doors (or visiting his website) and purchasing things which in the end pays the bills and keeps his shop open. If he didn't have to have those items for people to come and purchase or even look at then he wouldn't have any customers and therefore he would be able to pay the bills.

To me it is a smart way to keep your business open. I know personally that Bruno's is the cheapest when it comes to certain things. I have gone to his shop because he had a certain powder available that I couldn't find elsewhere, but when I got there the powder was more then I could afford. After browsing I knew I was running low on primers and found he had my primers for a really reasonable price so i purchased primers instead. In the end he still made a sale.

Just saying
