Leica repair experience?

Anyone sent anything back to Leica recently? I have an ER I bought second hand that out the blue started falling to hole zero and not tracking.

After wasting three shots on a wood chuck inside of 300 yds the other day, I put it on paper today. 6" to the left, started to adjust it, 3" to the right, then back to the left 1". 20 rds wasted.

This is on a 6 TCU, not like it is a boomer, and I have not dropped/abused it. Was fine beginning of the season in April, and until the past week I have been nailing them. Might be thermal related, who knows?

Call them next week, until then, the back up wood chuck gun, a BAT 6x47 L, with Minox ZP5 is good to go! :D

I have sent a pair binos in for rangefinder problems. It took about 2 months to get them back, but they also sent them to the factory. Call them first and see if the they will email you a shipping label.

In your case, I hope I'm wrong. I bought a new Leica 2x10 and the paperwork said it had to be registered and after a year (or two, I can't remember), you pay for repairs. A friend sent some binoculars back and they charged to fix them.

My experience has been always good. 20 years ago it was free, under a life time warranty. Warranty is limited and now you have to pay. IN 2019, I always talked to Jennie Jacques ,good customer service.

Unless you are the original owner they will charge for and repairs. They wanted $235 just to clean the exterior eyepiece on my Trinovids. They had become difficult to slide in and out. BS.
I sent them to Cory Suddarth. Suddarth Optical. $35. Good as new.
This being said, they are fantastic binos.

I had to send my 10x42 binos back due to focus issues. They repaired them in a couple weeks and sent them back repaired for $140. Good service just not used to paying for repairs. But I’d do it again. Great glass!!!

I ran over my 10x42 Leica's LRF binos in my truck and crushed the housing. I sent them in and they are rebuilding them at no charge. I was amazed that they warranty stupid but am very glad that they do!
