Leica 2000-b or Sig Kilo 2200?

I have the sig2000. Very consistent, light and best for the money imo. Tested swaro, bushnell 1500 and vortex ranger 1500. Hands down best of the 4.

There must be good ones and bad ones. We tested three SIG 2000 against 3 Swaro and 2 Terrapins. The Terripins won hands down, would read past 2000 easily on any target even in bright light. The Swarovski would go to 2000 on most objects. None of the Sigs would reach 2000 and struggled to go 1200 most the time. We did this on more then one day under more then one condition. They were also tripod mounted to help take out human error. Matt

You got lucky and got a good one. There ok if you do get one that works, but ALOT of them getting sent back. Go buy a lotto ticket while your luck is up !;)

Just learned recently that the 2400 is assembled and tested in Oregon. They must pass a series of tests before they are approved and released for sale. Not sure where the other models are manufactured. I have a feeling that there is more to the 2400 than just the added ballistic capabilities. I have not seen the 2400 offered without the ballistic capabilities. Just some more info if it helps anyone.:):)

Lucky? It is funny how biased people are. Ask around and read the forums and you’ll see mine isn’t the only functioning one left ;) The sig has a lifetime warranty. The Leica is twice the price with a 2 year.

I have read where people called SIG and they said it was in Spec. All I know is three of my buddies have one and none of them will work as advertised. They are going to send them back. Apparently from what I see there are good ones and lots of bad ones. The rate seems to be about 50/50. All I know is we tested them against others and my 3 buddies did not work.

There are a lot of good shooters on this thread saying the same thing. You should feel lucky, yours works. When they advertise 2000 yards they should read close to that. Matt

I'm now 3 out of 4 returned. Two 2000's and a 2200. Never had a issue with Leica or G7 and I use these a lot. Done with the sig.

The guy should feel lucky he got a good one. My experience is about like yours. Although they weren't mine, we tested them side by side to make sure it wasn't conditions. We also used a tripod to take out human error. We also ranged different distances and different objects. In the end all three failed. It has nothing to do with bias. It is just fact. I am honest and don't hardly ever bash a product. I also use a lot of different glass and rangefinder. All three guys are going to send them back. They were that bad. Matt

Obviously we aren't biased or we wouldn't have purchased the Sig Sauer LRF in the first place  I purchased the Sig fully expecting it to live up to the claimed ranging capabilities and videos I watched of Sig Sauer techs showing it ranging reflective targets at over 3K.

Yeah that wasnt the case and obviously im not the only one that got duped by Sig Sauer. Just stating actual real world experiences with the device.

I now have my Sig Kilo 2000 RF up for sale. I hope the word doesn’t get out before I sell it. I fell dirty now. I’m done with Sig RF unless they get their act together.

I'm in the same boat as you.

Somebody buy my Sig Sauer!!! It ranges to just over 1600 yards. That's better than most! ;)

I'm kind of surprised to see all the complaints about the Sig 2200MR. I had read that it was a couple notches up from the original 2000. I tried the Sig, the Leica 1600 and the Vortex Ranger 1500 in the store a while ago, and really preferred the speed and general operation of the Sig to the other two, the Leica in particular seemed quite slow.

Monmouth reloading had 2200MRs for $399 so I went ahead and took the plunge earlier this week. The Sig came in today, and while admittedly, it is a brand new unit with a new battery, I was very impressed playing around with it on a clear and dry but fairly sunny day. I ranged a stop sign at just over 1200 yds, a Humvee at 1961 yds, and a building at 2939 yds. I also hit numerous cars and trees 1500 yds and in but got bored with that pretty quick. The antelope weren't cooperating with my efforts, so the only one I had available to range was 50.2 yds away... Not much of a stretch. More testing to be done this weekend, maybe Sig fixed whatever problems it was having, or maybe I got lucky, either way the unit as it stands is a giant leap up from my old Nikon, I'm happy.

The comment about not working in cold weather got my attention. I hunt coyotes in weather down to -35. My leica (1600b)has not failed in these temp's. But then I only need reliable readings to 400 yds. But still for me something to take heed of.

Leica don’t really need a warranty, they do what manufacturers state they do and very rarely do you see any issues with them..
