Lapua center x ?

It's clear from what's been posted elsewhere by a Lapua-sponsored shooter referred to above that in his experience individual sponsored shooters "pick from the same lots as everyone else does."

Is there any reliable information about the question whether some national teams, from Europe, for example, have preferential access to lots that the manufacturer believes to be among the best available?

I suggest we go back to the question of how Lapua would know which lots were better.

We know that they already test their match ammo and separate them into CenterX, Midas+, and XAct.

Unless the above is not true (which I got from a Lapua person and has been corroborated elsewhere), then the idea of sending the “good” CenterX to America is nonsense. Because if Lapuas testing was definitive, winners would only talk about XAct.

Fact is we can barely get XAct here in the US, so the real question is which markets are getting the XAct shipments. Because that’s Lapua’s best stuff using their testing methods.

Fortunately for me, Lapuas factory testing does not correlate with the results I saw using my rifle. I was braced to find a good lot of Midas+ and be limit my spend to one case. Finding a best lot among the CenterX allowed me to buy two.

Is anyone getting flyers with center x 22 ammo ? Out of 20 shots I am getting about 3 flyers. Yesterday I had one shot tthat I seen the bullet go down range and hit about 6 inches low. I could actually see the bullet arch. Like it had less powder than the other ones.
What rifle and distance are you shooting? I'm guessing off a bench? What rest are you using?

Why do you keep questioning if some may have inside information on which lots the makers have that are the best in their inventory? at best they may know which lots performed up to or even better than the grading perimeters.
but you have stated many times some lots if not all will shoot differently in most if not all rifles. so how can a manufacturer tell an individual or team that certain lots are their best shooting without having them test it in the rifles they are shooting. as you said before what shoots good in one rifle may not in another.

The availability of X-Act clearly has to do with the small quanities produced. No one has great supplies of it.

Regarding the question of how Lapua might know which lots could be expected to be better, keep in mind that Lapua has decades of expeerience in match ammo production. It's not unreasonable to suggest that they've learned a great deal from that experience and that good lots are not produced willy nilly, in places in the production run that are completely random.

A single Lapua production run producees X-Act, Midas +, and Center X. Is it likely that one run produces a random sequence of good, excellent, and average lots?

All the components that go into each lot are not loaded haphazardly into the machines. The bullets and casings are not all equally identical, the product of equally perfect lead wire or brass plating. These vary in quality and ammo makers keep track of that. They know when the best quality components will loaded.

For evidence that Lapua grading is not exclusively the product of actual testing, it's that there are lots of higher grades of ammo that don't do as well as lesser grades across many barrels. There's more than testing alone that determines ammo grading.

If Lapua (or Eley or Fiocchi) had all of the control and knowledge that you believe in, it would make it all shoot the same. It does not.

Unfortunately that key consideration is the foundation that all of this discussion is built upon. That impasse ends my conversation.

I find it very humorous that the UK based shooters always complain that Eley sends the best lots to the USA.
Ken,

We're British; complaining is a national past-time.

That said, we have already had our quota of Team for the year. This is popular in my club, but our dealer was told no at the last order.
