Lapua Center-X Price?

I took 2 partial cases of CX to my ARA matches Saturday and Sunday. Priced $150 a brick, still had 5 bricks one lot on Sunday that I sold just before I left. Still have about half a case of mixed lots some a brick plus and some boxes priced at $15 a box didn't sell and still have. It's out there if you know where to look.

I got lucky my local grub hot two cases of it I bought 7 bricks. Also got a case of Laupa long range I think I will buy a brick if it’s still there Wednesday.

While waiting on Lapua while it is difficult to obtain, guys might be surprised how close Eley Match can get. I shot a very good 40-X rig with Eley Match today at 100 yards.

Two actually, the picture labeled “short” is a 40-X that someone shortened the heavy barrel on, way back in time. I myself, can’t imagine deciding that I’m going to go chuck up my 40-X and turn off several inches of the barrel, but guys lived large in the old days I suppose.

I took some satisfaction in seeing very early on that Match easily outshot Target, as it should, at 100. Both guns also shot a slightly worse group that wasn’t worth a picture and was clearly because of variance in the “lift” that .22’s get from a headwind component.

10-12 mph winds today. I didn’t pull out a box of Midas to compare the two; it’s just too rare. But extrapolating from memory, this result in the conditions today is not terribly different from what would have expected.

Brand loyalty sometimes has to give way to “match” loyalty. Daisy, Crosman, and Benjamin pellets weren’t the same, but can you imagine sidelining a kid’s airgun life for a year waiting for the favorite one, not me, I’m going to shoot. A year is still a year for big kids.
