Where have you been for the last 3 years?what is the deal ? why is it so hard to get ? will it ever come back ?? .
The test center is the way to go. My current lot of Midas+ shoots light out. Unfortunately you are only allowed to buy one case when you get your gun tested, so that there is ammo for others.they have to fill the inventory at the test centers first. And there's a 8/10 month waiting list to get into the test centers.
In a word, no supply will remain the same as it has been for many years. What changed is more shooters trying to get into 22LR match ammunition around 2020. I expect they'll keep producing about the same amount as before and with there being more shooters trying to get it, the demand will remain brutal.what is the deal ? why is it so hard to get ? will it ever come back ?? .
The "game" as you call it doesn't sound like a game at all. It sounds like a gamble~! Don't get me wrong, but if I can't control one of the most critical components of my shooting it seems that I'm just gambling my purchasing money praying to pick a winner. That’s why I’ve soured on the whole precision 22 game. I’m no longer willing to invest my time and money into rolling the dice with different lots of ammo. It’s fun when you have THAT lot, but chasing ammo that shoots just as good as THAT lot, yeah, I over that. I’ll stick to my centerfire stuff and roll my own.
This. All this running around, trying to find suitable ammo to shoot a match just really takes the fun out of it for me, personally. Who would think .22RF would be one of the most expensive endeavors to compete in. Sounds innocent enough. Lol! Carry on gents and small groups to all.The "game" as you call it doesn't sound like a game at all. It sounds like a gamble~! Since, based on you’re previous posting, you shoot no precision RF of any type so you gamble zero. The "game" as you call it doesn't sound like a game at all. It sounds like a gamble~! This comment from dusterdave173 makes good sense with the current situation with availibility of Lapua .22 Match ammo. It's exactly what I did. A guy I know at the range had been to the test center and ended up with a better shooting lot of Midas + than what he currently had for his Turbo.Buying ammo from fellow shooters at a match is the best way I have found
Top guys find a way to have a pile of ammo and when some of that inventory does not please them it is for sale and chances are 50-50 it will shoot great in your rifle or one of them and if not it is Easy to sell
Starting to feel the same way...looking for a SR BR gun right now. I love the BR game but chasing ammo is expensive and a time suck. That’s why I’ve soured on the whole precision 22 game. Seems you post on these threads to essentially be a PIA.
This is a similar response I had to someone on another forum contemplating getting 17 WSM. Ammo is hard to find and very expensive, that and you’re stuck with what you get whether it shoots good or not. I get a lot more of everything for my money by reloading my 17 Fireball. Got some grief for it too but forum idiots don’t bother me much…The "game" as you call it doesn't sound like a game at all. It sounds like a gamble~! Centerfire isn't any cheaper Glen & I despise prepping brass. Talk about a time suck. Oh, I still enjoy shooting sr score occasionally but getting into it coming from rfbr I find it, well, slow just shooting the 5 bulls per relay & waiting between relays due to the limited benches on our ranges up here. Plenty of opportunity up here if you want too though.Starting to feel the same way...looking for a SR BR gun right now. I love the BR game but chasing ammo is expensive and a time suck.
