Labradar

Went to the range today with my new Labradar. Works pretty good once you get the settings right. Mine was picking up the bench next to me. I had to adjust the sensitivity. I was shooting 6.5x47 Lapua and he was shooing 308. I adjusted the level to 6 and it was OK. When I changed to 22 hornet and had to adjust the level to be more sensitive at 4, and he was shooting the 308, it picked up his shots because of the sensitivity. Works best with no one around. It also chews through batteries. I went through six in 2 hours. Need to get a USB battery pack. Batteries need to be strong for it to work good. At half battery level it would not work at all. Is it worth the money? Jury is still out.

I've been using a battery pack since I first got the thing (bought from Amazon). After 8 range sessions (none particularly short), the pack is still showing more than 90% power left.

You'll make your money back in no time over buying and replacing batteries.

I bought a battery pack on Amazon for $38. 5V / 2.1A. I think it will be much easier than the AA's. Tested it at home and it lit up. Need another range trip.

I just use a Motorola Bluetooth charger. No battery depletion. Of course I have AC power available at my firing point.

What is the name / model of battery pack that has been gotten from Amazon?

Thanks

I bought this one:

It might be a bit overkill - I use it for other things (like taking it camping as an emergency charger) as well. I like it because it has 3 different outputs (1A, 2.1A, 2.4A) for various devices that support higher output recharging.

EDIT: Just as an FYI, I purchased it on April 10. Since that time, I've charged it once (when I first got it). I just used it again (since I posted earlier) for 2 hours with the Labradar and it *still* shows 4 bars, which means it has more than a 75% charge left.

The RAv is what I bought. $38 with the wall charger. MIne only has to ports. A 2.4A and 2..1A. I use the 2.1A port.

It's a no brainer to buy the battery pack. The one Jay has is huge -26,800mAh. The one recommended by LabRadar is 10,000mAh but using mine at the range with the radar on continuously for an hour, it only lose at most ~25% of its charge. I got mine from LabRadar and it cost $37. 86 with shipping to the US. It does have two ports on it with different power level and there is also a LED light on the bottom to show you that it is on.

Well that's good to know I just bought a 10,000 mAh at the local hardware for 22.00. After reading Jays post I thought mabie it would be to little. Be interesting to see how long it lasts
