Had a LR, now the Garmin

basically they both sit and wait for a bullet to break the beam. Better solution for both and much better than LR I needing noise to trigger. One less variable.

Original LR had an option for an external trigger. I thought I read the new one does as well. You are correct about the Garmin.

Plopping a friends' Garmin on my pistol bench, I found it registered shots from adjacent shooters, but didn't retain them (it displayed velocities, but they didn't show up on the post-session shot list.) My original LR never did that on the pistol line, but would occasionally on the rifle line until I went to the external recoil trigger. I'm not saying the Garmin is a poor unit, as it isn't. But I didn't find it to be completely flawless, either.

You’re lucky to get what you paid for them. I have mine up for $100.00 bucks and have no takers.

I've seen three brand new LR's at my range in the past couple of months: 2 V1's, and a V2. Retail on the V1's is way down now (I think mfr direct is $359 or thereabouts.)
