Lab Radar help

My lab has been giving me error's every once in awhile? I have it about 6-10" behind barrel and 6-8" to side. I have it set for 6" off set. I try and keep it alined with target best I can. Would not read my BR at my bench, moved it to another bench and it read every shot out of Buddy's .260? Direct sun light should not make a different's?

Bbl sticking out past radar has never been a problem for me. Try angling the face of the unit in a little towards the bbl. Check your setup menu for maximum sensitivity and the whatever setting to "trigger" I think it is. You could even try factory reset at the end of the main menu. If you continue to have trouble, call Labradar during their normal business hours if possible. They have been helpful to me. Good luck.

I had a similar issue reading shots from my 6BR when placed 10 inches behind the barrel. Emailed them a pic of the bench setup and followed up with a phone call. They looked at my setup and recommended that I move the Labradar more inline/even with the end of the barrel (Labradar is not so far behind the barrel). Unit has worked great since....

Would that work with the big cal's and muzzle brakes/

I mainly shoot the 6BR class cartridges w/o muzzle brakes. Friends have used the unit and it works as shown for .308 and 30-06 (without muzzle brakes).

As for muzzle brakes, I've seen others on the range set the Labradar behind the end of the muzzle. If you have a muzzle brake, my bad - I didn't realize that.

i read the suggestions and got to thinking, if it it behind the break maybe the side blast is causing the interference? moving to the front of the sideways blast,,,,,,

Moved my BR back were barrel is just a couple inches in front of lab, works great. Like to find a sight that will stay on,I keep loosing my straws

I use a red dot that I use for benchrest shooting on a “u” shaped piece of plastic that sits on top. I will try to remember to send you. picture...works great...

Here is a solution, that really works great.
I glued a short piece of 1/4 ID brass tubing to the top of the Labradar, and slid the next sized tube inside it, to sight on the target. I also sprayed some black paint on the inside of the longer tube to reduce internal reflections. A rubber ring on the rear to prevent me from jamming it into my eyeball. This type of tubing is made to slide into the next larger size, and is available at most model airplane shops and some hobby shops. It is manufactured by KS metals. It stores in the labradar case.

Good idea, what glue did you have the best luck with?

I found that "Aiming" the LabRadar was essential in getting the most from this machine. Your device looks good. I use an optical device but whatever works for you is good. One other thing I found helped in reliable tracking of the bullet. I used to always do my testing from my "Favorite" bench at our club range. My spot happened to be next to a wall. One day some "OTHER GUY" had my spot. :-) I had to move to a different bench, NOT next to a wall. After my test session I found that the LabRadar tracked the bullets much farther than when I shot next to a wall.
