Just wanted to honor a good man

I learned tonight while watching the election that a good friend and a frequent sage at my gun shop passed away tonight of a massive heart attack. He was at the shop this morning, bought his usual Cheerwine soda. Invoked knowledge upon all that were there and left to pick up lunch at the Cafe and it's the last I saw him. At least I said "See you buddy" as he left. The man knew more about hunting and making white liquor than anyone I ever met. Gonna miss him. Left out names, but if you could give a little prayer for one of the last of the people left that can share those type of experiences, I would appreciate it. Gonna miss his matter of fact life lessons and his knowledge of hunting - both out west and here in the south. God Speed Shorty!

Rebel, sorry for your loss. I’ve said this before. Some people may think I’m nuts. My father still lives in my heart. To me he is still right there with me. Often when I’m out in the field I talk to him, he listens and I talk. It’s always been that way. Keep him alive in your heart and he lives. Mike

It is said that you die twice, first when you leave this earthly realm and finally when the last time your name is spoken.
Keep his name in your heart and on your lips.
Hokey as it may be, I talk to my Mentor all the time; he passed 1/11/11. He lives on through me and the people I share his wisdom with.
I will light a candle for Shorty.
Peace be with you, and yours.
GotRDid.

rebel,
Your friend sounds like the colorful sort of man that is a joy to be around. It is sad for those of us left behind when men like that depart this plain of existence. Your sense of loss is palpable. RIP shorty
