Just finished this project rifle

Built this out of some spare parts I had here and there, had to order a stock and a barrel for it and it turned out sweet. Built on a Savage 10 series action with BBR installed a 26 inch EABrown .223 Wylde in 1-7 twist and bedded it into a Boyd's Pro Varmint stock that I modified into a "poor mans" bench rest stock adding a section of Anschutz rail and bedding it in as well. Stripped Boyd's flat finish off and put on 4 coats of PPG clear. Still breaking it in but it seems like it will be a great shooter.

Good looking rig. I put one of those EAB barrels on a Savage action, chambered in 243 Win., 8 twist. Dang thing shoots a lot better than a $250 barrel ought to, groups under a half minute with H1000 and 108 ELD-M's. Shows a bit of fire cracking after about 1200 rounds, but that's to be expected with a 243 I guess. Got it set up in a Choate stock with CDI bottom metal, 12x SWFA mil-mil. If the rain breaks, will be taking it to a BangSteel match this weekend.

I have two of those stocks on stand-by, they are great stocks with the full aluminum bedding block. Great looking rifle, really like the bottom metal/mag setup.

Nice job Lefty. Looks good with the clear coat. Bolt knob Savage or ? I like the size. Jeff
