Jewell triggers

The Jewell was the best trigger there was, at the time but it did not always stand up to usage. Field failures were not unheard of so many carried spares.

There are better triggers available now.

The demise of the company would not affect the patent but the patent office does not enforce patents. With the company gone there would be no one to defend it.

His Patent 4,571,005 is long since expired. The Trademark "Jewel Triggers" is still active.

If a person wanted to duplicate the trigger baring any patent infringements, the Jewell name would have to be purchased if the mfg wanted to use the name. Now the down side if there is any outstanding liability connect to the name, the liability would also be assumed along w/the name. When anyone decides to dive into the trigger business, don't forget I want to be your ????? trigger dealer. LDS

I worked for a guy who had several patents he told me after 20 years somebody could copy the patent.
