In days gone by, I heard that a lot at 2 AM.
On a side note, Mickey Gilley is right, the girls do gets prettier about that time.
Dave, you need a little side biz now that you've 'retired'. I like the idea of a Jewell 'Crusher' series trigger. Sign me up for some of those! -AlI know a guy in China....triggers will be here in a couple weeks...![]()
Probably could stamp made in the USA on them now.I know a guy in China....triggers will be here in a couple weeks...![]()
Anything, especially a piece of machinery, can be reversed engineered.Sure would be nice to have the original designs and access to previous records before someone was just to pick up and start with an old design with reverse engineering. Since there appears to be no information available, it certainly limits the players that might want to resurrect the brand.
Jackie I'm just wondering if the profit margin for something that labor intensive could be a factor. There's a lot of people who have the equipment, George Kelbly built a pretty good trigger at one time, I had a couple of them. You know Jim still has the capability to make them yet he's expanding in other areas.... I don't think there's enough profit in it to justify it..... If you consider how long the Jewel trigger was on the market, you have to believe that manufacturing has progressed quite a bit in that time.
Making the trigger would be no big deal. It’s the cost of the machinery to accomplish the task that is prohibitive.
That is why that early in this thread I suggested that a major current manufacturer such as Timney or Canjar could pick up the gauntlet and produce an exact copy.
It is a limited market, especially since there are now alternatives.Jackie I'm just wondering if the profit margin for something that labor intensive could be a factor. Wen ya going over there to bring some back, Johnny? My friend in Italy can't stand the tariffs.
Australia is getting great actions and triggers that we can't get because of politics.
I did talk to Mr Jewell himself on the phone. He told me directly that he’s now retired.I wish someone could contact Arnold's son and get the word straight from the horses mouth. I think his name is Brian??? I realize privacy should be respected, but I think he would be glad to explain. Some of the old timers probably know him...
