I've shot a Timney Benchrest trigger, Jewell Benchrest trigger and a Bix-n-Andy Competition trigger. Now that jewell Triggers is gone. Is there a Bench Rest Trigger available that is not 450 bucks that is a good trigger?
Old post I know but.....what was your opinion of the Timney benchrest trigger?I've shot a Timney Benchrest trigger, Jewell Benchrest trigger and a Bix-n-Andy Competition trigger.
My answer to your question is simply....No.
The Timney was as good as my Jewell and I like my Bix-n-Andy better than both.Old post I know but.....what was your opinion of the Timney benchrest trigger?
Does Kelbly’s or Shilen still make a BR trigger? Now that jewell Triggers is gone. Is there a Bench Rest Trigger available that is not 450 bucks that is a good trigger?
I have one but was unable to install it in several Remington 700 clones. Took it to a gunsmith who was also unable to install it, and so it was sent back to Shilen. They tested the trigger on various actions and said it was fine, and returned it to me.Shilen does, I just bought one from Northland.
I had no idea there was a problem installing the Shilen trigger in the Rem 700 clones. I bought one to go in a Kauger BR2 action and I am hoping it drops in.I have one but was unable to install it in several Remington 700 clones. The difference between the Shilen and a Jewell or BixNAndy.... those designs are captured and there are no parts that need to be compressed to insert the pins, and no springs to worry about falling out, whereas this is not the case with the Shilen.
Mine was a drop in on the “0” side of the hanger.I had no idea there was a problem installing the Shilen trigger in the Rem 700 clones. I bought one to go in a Kauger BR2 action and I am hoping it drops in.
Can the Shilen be set to a 2 oz consistent release with no discernable creep in the Kauger?Mine was a drop in on the “0” side of the hanger.
Right out of the box, Mine WIILL NOT break at 3 ounces, WILL break at 4 ounce, and BREAKS LIKE GLASS. I’m happy with that, therefore I haven’t touched it.Can the Shilen be set to a 2 oz consistent release with no discernable creep in the Kauger?
I still have a bunch of left-handed Jewel HVR bolt release triggers if anybody wants some lefties I'll make you a deal on the whole batch.
Probably. Is it possible to remove the safety and bolt release and use it on a right handed action?
