It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

Son shot this buck this evening. Second year hunting new property 10 minutes from our house. There’s an old timer that has showed up on son’s trail camera and has call the sheriff 3 times on him. Last year he shot a doe and when we came out to vehicles around 8 PM we wondered why it was so bright out. Two sheriffs deputies vehicles were parked at end of street with headlights on! Super nice deputies. Asked son if he had written permission which he showed them. IMG_3869.jpegIMG_3866.jpegIMG_3863.jpeg

IMG_4523.jpegIMG_4527.jpegIMG_4526.jpegIMG_4533.jpegIMG_4533.jpegBeen at camp since Wednesday night other than to run home for a concert Saturday afternoon and got back Sunday at noon.
Cut a tire down on my truck on Friday morning in the dark, finished my drive on the junk tire. Hunted all day then changed it in the dark that night.
Put my winter tires and wheels on Sunday morning before I can back to camp from home.
Sunday about 230 pm my dog tears the pad of her right rear inboard toe pretty bad. Get the bleeding stopped and wrapped , keep her calmed down. And send my vet a text message.
Monday morning back in the woods as I wait for the vet to open. Couple of doe and a yearling buck . Phone call with the vet while in the woods “have her here at noon”
Text my brother and our friend that I was headed out at 10am to take Bonnie in.
945 my brother hits a buck ,says he did not make a good shot. Almost an hour long jump out to camp. Change get her in the truck 45 minute drive to the vet. Wound checked ,cleaned 6 stitches and medication. Back on the road to camp with a dog now still knock out on meds.
Almost back to camp she starts coming too and as my luck goes looses her bladder in my truck a bit.
Now just after 2pm.
Clean up truck quick change into light tracking clothes. Off to find my brothers buck. Track till dark , no dead deer , he went back this morning and looked at last spot but cannot get past our last spot we had last night.
Now he is voting and waiting on a tracker dog to give it a go.
All that drivel leads my to today .
73/74 degrees out , very windy and not one deer to be seen. Pics of my view along with three river otters I watched for several hours off and on. The couple of above pics are them literally right under my stand.

Mom’s birthday is Thursday so it back home for a little celebration ten back down Thursday night. Here till dark next Monday night
