Son called me and said Cory is so excited he wants to go hunting tomorrow and shoot a buck. His deer makes 16 taken with this Encore chambered in 257 JDJ.

I got these two guys in northwestern Pennsylvania yesterday. The coyote seemed to have its nose on two doe, it come running past me,that’s where his pursuit ended. With no snow on the ground at the moment finding a deer can be difficult in the thick stuff that I hunt I noticed a tail flicker and got the scope on it, and eventually found the rack with the correct amount of points to be legal. I have had a great season and I’ve got lots of fresh venison in the freezer now for the winter.

Last day of our rifle season, last 5 minutes of light-again. Took one more doe for the freezer. Ruger Ranch bolt action in 7.62x39 123gr HP WOLF. Double lung, she only ran about 45 yards.
Love that little rifle, just wish I could get a better stock....

I shot this PA. doe yesterday with my pre-64 model 70 in 250-3000 Savage. About a 30 yard neck shot. My son was unable to get out yesterday and really wanted a deer for the freezer so this one goes to him. It was a nice day to be out and I really enjoy hunting with this rifle.I’ve had a great season and a lot of good meat and memories to keep me full and warm this winter!
