That's the end of my elk hunting for this year. It was a tremendously challenging shot that I wasn't at all sure I could make. There was the wind, the range and then the downhill angle. Never have I been so hesitant about taking a shot. It was about 125 yards, standing still and broadside. Tough shot but I pulled it off.

Went out on a DV hunt in Virginia and got this little fella along with a small doe. Not the optimal shooting setup, and this was my old stock, but I tagged this guy at ~420 yds.

Like recently or reoccurring surgeries from previous injury? My buddy is a surgeon at Walter reed and he’s been working on the same guys for years now. Saw the same stuff with jump injuries too. Get well soon. I’m glad you got something this season!! I hope the Military and VA take care of you.
