It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

Shot this big pig last running by himself last Saturday afternoon, 25-06 115gr ballistic tip. I'm guessing 175-200lbs. I had no deer show up for the morning hunt and that evening so I was ready to pull the trigger on something. He strolled out of the trees next to one of my feeders and I dropped him at 150yds with 1 shot to left shoulder. biggest pig for me this season, most have been 50-70lbs.

28CF0B88-D22E-4289-B75B-CF570EF98F16.jpeg9 pt yesterday morning. Double lung shot at 230 yards. 190 lbs. matches the 8 pt. I took before Thanksgiving. Two bucks in Georgia and that’s The limit on bucks.

This was a 260AI in a “homemade” Savage-auctioned using Sierra 130 tipped Game Changer’s. Took 8 pt using 270.

I still have another weekend to go! This past Sat I had a meat doe stop in front of me: 2020 doe.jpg

On Sunday this little buck went running by a little too close & caught one:

After doing deer drives all weekend I needed a break so I sat in the tree-stand on Monday when this yote stopped at the fence near my stand & committed suicide:

The deer were taken during drives (I'm a designated driver). All shots were under 50 yards with my little Ruger 77/44. Load is 240 gr XTPs over 15 grains of Blue Dot, Starline brass & WW primers.

Last day of the season. Five minutes before shooting light ended. Right on a Does Ass. 308 win. 150 GK SBTs @ 2800 fps. 140 yards. DRT.
Good bullet placement for DRT. Move it back to the heart/lung area and you track 50 yards near all the time. The little bit of meat you lose with that shot is not important compared the to the delight of seeing it go down and stay down.

Funny you bring that subject up, especially in my case on this deer. I have acreage and I hunt about 40 yards from the neighbors fence line. The deer always come from his side over to mine and back. This buck was moving fairly quick behind a doe toward his fence line. In that case I had no choice but to hit him on the shoulder. I actually aimed higher but he was moving thru an area that was full of humps and holes so guessing he was headed into one of those low holes when I shot. It did the job but the high shoulder shot does it Everytime.
