It's Always New To Somebody

The great thing about a forum is if you don't want to answer questions that you think are beat to death, you don't have to. Being on the forum a long time but only recently really using it I've seen too many times members with low posts being the first to jump a new guy about "use the search function". Even long time members with very high posts sometime jump on the bandwagon. Not very friendly.

Don't be a jack azz. Don't answer if you can't help!

One of my first tech questions here was a problem with direct light on target vs flat light and how much it changed POI at 500 yards. My first comment was I needed to learn how to shoot at 500 yards HAHA, followed with a bunch of BS. I was answered in a p.m. from a very understanding shooter that had experienced the same thing. Being somewhat forum savvy, it didn't deter me from asking questions, I just know when to call out BS when it's BS to try to get my thread back on track so everyone can benefit. No one benefits from a bunch of guys arguing points that had nothing to do with the OP.

just pass on it if you dont like it.

gosh how i HATE internet popo.
nick says it nice!

The only person who should attempt to chastise anyone on this forum is the Forum Administrator. Asking a question that has been asked before without doing a search, hurts no one. See a question that is redundant, ignore it if it upsets you. Don't be a pompous ass. If you can't help a person, do nothing.

Like driving down the road and someone cuts you off and then you chase after them, honking your horn and giving them the finger. What have you accomplished?

Most here really like to offer advice and are always willing to field a question, no matter how many times it has been asked. Just maybe, the poster did not get a satisfactory answer when he did a search or did not understand it.

So maybe I am lazy. Or maybe I am a techno-boob. Or maybe I am blind. But I have been here for a while, tried to help when I can, recognize that I have LOTS of weak areas in my knowledge base and I ask before I search. Why? Cause I didn't really know how to use the search function. And for that matter, I didn't (when I started) know the difference between the topic threads on optics vs for sale optics.

I recently asked about 22 PPC loads for LT32. Thanks for those that helped.

Could I have found that? Maybe. But how many guys are even still shooting 22PPC, let alone with a relatively new (at least to me) powder?

Let em ask, dont be a grump (that is MY area of expertise so stay off my lawn) and let's be welcoming.

I used the search function this morning with mixed results. About half the results told me it doesn’t work, the other half told me to use the search function.

Is it ok to to start a thread bout this, or has the question already been asked?
