It's Always New To Somebody

Saw another "reply" today that all but scolded a poster for asking a question.

What's the harm with someone asking something that may have been asked many times before? Do sites really only want to deal with "new topics"?

Kinda a bummer to bring a question and then get replies like "here we go again", or "are we going to keep beating this dead horse?".

Just my opinion. Apologies to those who think that such a topic has been referenced too many times.

I think we've covered this. ;)o_O

But some would prefer they used the search function. But for me, I use the "New Posts" feature a bunch, and new iterations of old questions may bring something up that I've never seen and would enjoy knowing about.

Along the same lines, some folks get twisted out of shape when a zombie thread shows back up. I don't mind for the same reason.

BINGO on searching before posting and new posts feature. I say why not take the extra 10 secs and search and take a few moments to read a little on the search results.

No harm can be done with a simple search first and there was no scolding that took place.

I find that the Face of reloading in the past 10 years has changed greatly with the new equipment and reloading techniques. I also believe, That if you don't understand some thing, or just flat out don't know the answer, or even know how to figure it out. PLEASE ask some one who does. No question is stupid,,, unless you DO NOT ASK.:) I by far, am a student of reloading and I do not have all the answers, But I sure do have a lot of time during the Covid BS, to perfect my craft and try to help some one along the way. Hopefully, I learn some thing too. I don't mind adding my 2 cents if I think it might help. I think going over history is a good thing in any, NEW POST.,, Your method may not be working for them, and it could be a problem with their equipment and so own, (OR Your METHOD in general). So please post a new thread, I hope this provides some new techniques, and the use of some NEW EQUIPMENT, and IDEAS. JM2C.

There are some that are new to the Forum or unfamiliar to it's services. Answering their question or helping to direct them to a thread wouldn't hurt anyone and could help them understand the search features on here.
Exactly, i prefer to do a quick search regarding their question and post a link. That usually prompts them to use the search feature without leaving them feeling bruised.

Some folks want you to give them the answers and not work for them instead of doing a little or alot of searching. Then when you tell them the search function is a good feature to use they get all pissed off. I remember asking people what their best load was not knowing it probably wouldn’t work in my rifle. The search feature sometimes helps and sometimes frustrates. Old threads bring out good information too. I think most people get bent out of shape with WTB adds especially when they are old adds and people are just joining to buy something. I try to look at post dates.

CHEERS!! I will drink to that.

So when beating a horse to death, what makes for the best club?
Golf club, baseball bat, 2x4?
Asking for a friend.
My point exactly.... I hope some one brought a new club," (piece of equipment/Technique)" with them to beat that horse with. That's why I partake in the forums. I'm trying to learn some thing new and help some one that will listen. I'm still looking for that unicorn post that defies the elements and physics. LOL:)

About a week ago I used the search function for 6.5-284 loads.
Just yesterday it was brought to the top.
I constantly use the search function for bullets, brass, dies and whatnot, a very valuable tool to say the least.
